aap_flanker
I was wondering why it doesn't appear any more, I remember that in Flanker 2.5 it appears when you pull hard or when you do a high G's turning... In this moment I can't remember if in LOMAC this "detail" appears or not, but I found a screenshot that show it: In FC2 it doesn't appear (as you see in this shot) It would be great that somebody (or ED) can help me/us to get this effect again and get more realism...:pilotfly: Here some real photos: Intel i5 11700F + H80 | 4x4GB 3200mhz RAM | AORUS ELITE B560M | Samsung 850 PRO SSD 256gb| KINGSTON SA400 480GB SSD | WD 500GB | Gigabyte GTX 1070 8GB | Antec 1200 PSU | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS and homemade panels and rudder pedals | 24" Samsung T24C550 @60Hz 2ms | Opentrack 3 led clip

revalence
That looks like a mod... I saw it once... But I know that's most likely FC 1.12. That terrain is Tom's Lockon4Ever 5.0 (Yes, I remember that! :D) That was a pretty good terrain... (Sigh) Memories.

aap_flanker
That's my Hornet. It's not edited. Is this lomac 1 or FC1.1xx??? Is the F-18 the only aircraft with this effect??? aaron886
It's FC2. I modeled the Hornet, you won't find it in any Lock On version.

aap_flanker
Well is good to see that I'm not the only who think on it... :) Sooo.... should I take a look into Flanker 2.5 and check if there is any folder or something that makes this effect? or it is in vane? :S Intel i5 11700F + H80 | 4x4GB 3200mhz RAM | AORUS ELITE B560M | Samsung 850 PRO SSD 256gb| KINGSTON SA400 480GB SSD | WD 500GB | Gigabyte GTX 1070 8GB | Antec 1200 PSU | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS and homemade panels and rudder pedals | 24" Samsung T24C550 @60Hz 2ms | Opentrack 3 led clip
DTWD
In vane I think. I would suspect an effect like that would be part of the model. Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Blaze
Nope. Find an aircraft you like, learn 3D modeling, and build one with vapor. Jinro
I'm surprised that LOMAC doesn't have wing vapor. Even Falcon 4 with it's old graphics and not-so-realistic flying has wing vapor.
aaron886
I wouldn't expect results. You might find the shaders but the actual generation of that vapor is either exe or dll, I would think.

aaron886
No it's still there. I usually turn it off, though, because I haven't figured out how to move it to the location of my model's wingtips yet. HungaroJET
some simple little thing that ED would do it Well is good to see that I'm not the only who think on it... :) Sooo.... should I take a look into Flanker 2.5 and check if there is any folder or something that makes this effect? or it is in vane? :S NO it is not ! There are many fuselage vapour 3D .cmd files in Shapes folder for left and right side of fuselage: 4xmpl: F15-SRYW-L.cmd, F15-SRYW-R.cmd and more for F-16, F-18, MiG-29, Su-25, Su-27, Su-33 Arg0 moves the vapour effect (waves) backward on these 3D .cmd vapour models. I think nice enough, so ask ED to put it back @ aircrafts. It's easy for Them but not for us :( Flanker2 (2.5) used these vapour models ! These Vapour fogs a little plastic in Flanker2 but the 3D models of DCS are different. The skins/textures of the vapor are nicer, looks like redesigned, but unused in FC2/DCS :( Also interesting: Flanker2 use this option - if player put 4 or 6 AIM-7 Sparrows to Tomcat then Phoenix rails are not visible. How ? This is also missing from FC2/DCS :( Shame http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=53943 Edited February 13, 2011 by HungaroJET Atop the midnight tarmac, a metal beast awaits. aaron886
Interesting of course, but it seems unlikely ED will help us with that. As it looks like you've surmised, none of the SRYW files seem to have an effect. CMD tools is what we need, but we probably won't get em. :(

As it looks like you've surmised, none of the SRYW files seem to have an effect. CMD tools is what we need, but we probably won't get em. :( 4xmpl: We need a joint/bounded effect to F-16.cmd files to show F16-SRYW-L.cmd and F16-SRYW-R.cmd (F-16 vapuors) @ x,y,z coords (of aircraft) when Gs higher than 5-6Gs. If then Arg0 must run 0.01 to 0.99 (again and again) and dissapears when Gs lower than 5-6 Gs. That's it. Easy ! but only in .dll files :( Result: Vapour fogs will weaving backward in FC2/DCS  (wont as homogeneous like in Flanker2) I dont have antialiasing with ModelViewer. I have no idea why :( Atop the midnight tarmac, a metal beast awaits. To be flown below the radar, to bring the enemy his fate. HAVE A BANDIT DAY ! aap_flanker
HungaroJET: have you tryed to paste this .cmd files into the shapes folder and see what happens??? remember that a lot of things are only dissabled in the game (example: tv guided on su-27; by changing the payload you can launch a kh-29 and watch on mfd the "tv" image... like on flanker 2.5) I will take a look to the falnker 2.5! thank for this tips  I forgot to mention that I am happy if I only can see the vapor like on flanker 2.5, I don't care too much that it looks "un-detailed" Edited February 13, 2011 by aap_flanker forget to mention something Intel i5 11700F + H80 | 4x4GB 3200mhz RAM | AORUS ELITE B560M | Samsung 850 PRO SSD 256gb| KINGSTON SA400 480GB SSD | WD 500GB | Gigabyte GTX 1070 8GB | Antec 1200 PSU | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS and homemade panels and rudder pedals | 24" Samsung T24C550 @60Hz 2ms | Opentrack 3 led clip
aaron886
That's what he's saying... that's what won't work. Something has to tell those CMD files to appear in the first place. That's probably DLL, maybe CMD... neither of which we have access to. :(
