I have prepaid months ago and gone from initial beta through beta 4. I am downloading the final version now. Will I need my password which I have forgotten to get this final installed? Is this final version in the place of the beta 6 which I was waiting on? Please advise.

If you have Beta4 activated on your machine, your process should be:

 

1 - uninstall Beta4

2 - make sure to remove leftovers in C:\Users\XXX\SavedGames or similar

3 - install Release version

 

No activation should be needed.

There will be no Beta6. This is the release version. Beta is over.

Possibly not. But your serial number is available on the main DCS site after you Login. Might be an idea to have look and jot it down if you get it.

Trying both utorrent and bit-torrent...

 

With BitTorrent, can you tell me the exact error messages? Also, confirm that you get a green checkmark at the bottom right - if you have a yellow or red warning there then there is something wrong with your connection.

Sniper31, have you confirmed that you are not being blocked by firewalls, have ports forwarded correctly if necessary and isn't being throttled by your ISP? (Some ISP blocks standard torrent ports, if so make sure to enable random port in your torrent software.)

 

I am currently seeing several people with download speeds between one and two megabyte per second on the torrent, so it definitely is working.

No, not blocked by firewall (its turned off).

 

Not sure if ports are forwared correctly or not. I usually download big files pretty fast, but this IS the first time I have downloaded via torrent.

 

I have random port selection enabled in my torrent software.

 

Any other ideas? I too have seen post where other are downloading fast, so I figured I must be doing something wrong with the torrent thing.

 

P.S. I have a GREEN check mark.

dont know about you guys but i dont see any fps boost, still horrible for me. i have to drop everything to the maximum lowest to get an average fps of 30 - 50

Sniper, unfortunately I am not familiar with uTorrent. One thing that is a possible explanation though is that you might just be unlucky and have gotten stuck with peers that have set their upload cap to something silly like 1kbps (some people are cheap like that). The odds of that should be small though now that the seeder count is up to 241.

 

A possible explanation is that your ISP is throttling p2p traffic and have detected it in spite of random ports. In such a case the only thing you can do is live with slow speed, switch to FTP (I think they are still hard to get DL slots on though) or switch to an ISP that isn't an ass. :(

Video card, motherboard, windows ? 32 or 64bit?

Yeah, apologies for the inconvenience. The problem shouldn't last for too long though - this is basically the release-rush where everyone who has been F5ing constantly (and flaming on the forums) for the last month are all hitting it at the same time.

 

Hopefully the FTP's will clear up soon if you are unable to find an explanation to the torrent issues.

I would try FTP since you're have such trouble. I managed (lucky) to get download slots... didn't take too long to get in and am currnetly DL'ing 3 files at 200K/ps each. Not blazing.. but moving steady. Keep trying guys...

 

(hope I didn't break protocol, but i kept trying each FTP server till I got in with no concern for region/locale...shrug)

Maybe he should set the installation folder in the anti-virus exception.

AVG permit this.

Avg -> tools -> setting -> resident shield -> excluded items or something similar.
