How in the world is this simulator running so great in the release version? It's over like 2x the performance as any of the beta's!

I am getting over 50FPS in cockpit and 70+ FPS external views on 3x 30" monitors with every in-game setting max and 4x AA. Unbelievable! :D

SLI works marvelous in this game as my GPUs are maxed out.

System: 990x OC'd @ 4.6Ghz, Quad-SLI 3GB GTX580s. At my resolution A-10C uses 2.6GB VRAM.

GPU: RTX 4090 - 3,000 MHz core / 12,000 MHz VRAM.

CPU: 7950X3d - 5.2 GHz X3d, 5.8 GHz secondary / MB: ASUS Crosshair X670E Gene / RAM: G.Skill 48GB 6400 MHz

SSD: Intel Optane P5800X - 800GB

VR: Pimax Crystal

CONTROLS: VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Base / VPC Constellation ALPHA Prime Grip / VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle / TM Pendular Rudders

hahaha I KNOW!

It's amazing. I think it was mostly the particle system. If you noticed, the performance really started dropping about the time you'd open fire with the GAU and/or if you tried to take off/land and missed the strip. Just a guess, though.

It's really impressive, though.

im less than impressed with the way that the targeting pod KILLS frame rates when activated...

I go from silky smooth to jerky ... it's hugely painful... this is with a 6870 so it's no slouch..

Nothing strange about that, Dropbear, and it cannot be avoided. Targeting pod active means that you are setting up a second camera, meaning that the 3D world needs to be rendered a second time. Try lowering resolution of the pod to 256.

That said, my own 2600K runs silk smooth with the pod active at 1024, bar a split-second hiccup just as it starts, so you may have something else happening.

If you want some assistance looking at the issue, please open a thread about it in the appropriate Problems section. Don't hijack other people's threads. ;)

@DropBear - If you want a silky smooth performance with TGP operating in a congested environment I would suggest you start thinking about a new GPU. A few threads mentioned the high importance of the graphics card for DCS A10 (which was not the case in Black Shark).

@Vega - Yes. I was having already smooth experience with B4 after I changed my old GTX280. Yet, in certain situations the FPS were dropping from 50-60 to 20-25. Now I have 60 allround (i have V-Sync enabled) and even with the TGP running the FPS keep up. Great job ED.
