ED Team Olgerd Posted October 12, 2012 ED Team Posted October 12, 2012 (edited) Hey Olger..lest put example here all I want is make the day green color hud more intense so I can differentiate when weather or other elements in day time are not helping me to see my hud information.... this is all I see in the last line day_color = {0, 255/255, 0, 255/255} should I increase this values to day_color = {0, 260/255, 0,255/260} ...Something like that and give it a try?..... Maximun values for green (paint) are 255...Ill tried 300 and doesnt work... the first three values are hue, sat, lum and them red green and blue? {0, 260/255, 0,255/260} -> {R/255, G/255, B/255, A/255}. 0/255 is equivalent to 0, thus zeroes at the first, and third places in the table. You should change only R, G, B. Edited October 12, 2012 by Olgerd [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] К чему стадам дары свободы? Их должно резать или стричь. Наследство их из рода в роды Ярмо с гремушками да бич.

CmdrMoros Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 You may permanently redefine HUD color in \Scripts\Aircrafts\A-10C\Cockpit\materials.lua The line 'materials["HUD_IND_GREEN"] = {0, 255, 0, 255} ' defines RGBA (A stands for alpha) components for day mode HUD symbology. ___ Hi, I tried this this and the color still stays green. I redefined it to: ["HUD_IND_GREEN"] = {255, 0, 0, 255} Should I change the text 'GREEN' to 'RED'? Thanks

sobek Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 BTW: It is possible to increase/decrease the contrast of the HUD during the flight... Yes, there is a rocker switch on the UFC. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
FreeFall Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Yes, there is a rocker switch on the UFC. Yes. The INTEN-rocker. For example, while landing, it is easier to see the runway if you decrease the intensity of HUD. BTW, with Night Vision Goggles I always use the green DAY-mode. Looks much better than the amber NIGHT-mode.

Well I am maybe little annoying over this issue guys but here is a screen shot so you can tell me if we need more intensity on green or not..yes I hit the INTEN switch but this is maximum value....using goggles at day time is not the solution however a good idea.. thanks My Rig:I7 4790K OC to 4.5 GHz .Memory ram 16GB 64 Bit MOB Asus Maximus hero VII Nvidia NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 T Asus Monitor 4K at 3840x2160 Windos 10 64-bit on SDD 500 and DCS on separate SSD drive. FreeFall Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Well I am maybe little annoying over this issue guys but here is a screen shot so you can tell me if we need more intensity on green or not.. The green HUD in your screen capture actually looks a bit faded. But, on the other hand, I think I have never felt any need to increase the HUD intensity with INTEN-rocker. I have only decreased the intensity (for example while landing, as I already mentioned before).

Skitter Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I have a problem with HUD color when flying by snowy mountains or clouds. Neither amber or green works then. Dark green would probably work. Anybody knows how it is in the real A-10C ?
PeterP Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 (edited) Some physics: Getting a coloured light (RGB) darker without to reduce intensity (transparency) = Not possible - In Real life and also in the Sim. EDIT: The HUD is working as in RL and fine in the Sim (I had the opportunity to use a HUD twice in RL) - it can only be clearly visible as long the lightning of the background is not brighter as the HUD. IMHO, you really should visit a colour/brightness calibration wizard that is buried somewhere in your GPU properties. Edited October 15, 2012 by PeterP
FreeFall Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I have a problem with HUD color when flying by snowy mountains or clouds. I actually noticed (from Peter22's capture) that the snowy mountains were the background. Maybe I won't see snowy mountains so often, but clouds are pretty much around all the time. Still haven't had the feeling of insufficient HUD intensity. Or maybe I monitor the gauges if I cannot see the HUD? Cannot be sure.
Cookie Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Anybody knows how it is in the real A-10C ? The real pilots sucks it up and lives with it. All he can do is switch between night and day and play around with the INTEN toggle at the UFC. - Two miles of road lead nowhere, two miles of runway lead everywhere - Click here for system specs

PeterP Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 (edited) well - {0, 150/255, 0, 255/255}.. will only handle the intensity of green. What you have done with your edit: {0, 150/255, 0, 255/255} you have reduced 100% green of the HUD to ~58%. So it only got lighter/less intense. - so it is no big surprise that you have still the same colour (but less intense) Reminder: #39 to get a significant change in colour you have to use all "vales" - means: Change also Red and Blue. Example: {100/255, 150/255, 100/255, 255/255} Edited October 15, 2012 by PeterP
