EtherealN Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Is your OS 32-bit? If so, you will want to note the 64-bit mention. It can be made to work on 32-bit, and there is a 32-bit executable included, but this requires that a switch in the operating system be flipped to increase the available adress space for the process. Your GPU I cannot comment on, since I am not well acquainted with the red-team offerings. tdar Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Hi EtherealN, I use the 32bit Vista OS, how does one increase the available address space for the A-10?
winz Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 My personal experience - 2GB of Ram is not enough to run this sim. You'll be out of ram in no time and that results in a lot of nasty stutters when the HDD page file kickes in. The Valley A-10C Version Revanche for FC 3
MTFDarkEagle Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 I concure. 2GB is cutting it very very tight. Right now (just in windows) I'm using give or take 2.5gb (yes running multiple apps) alone.. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread

Steel Jaw Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Hi, ATI 3870 512MB Q6600 2.4 Ghz 2 GB RAM Vista SP2 Unless you dial the grafic settings way down to bare minumum, you will have nasty stuttering and hang ups. I saw this sim coming miles away and built my current rig specifically in Nov 2009 to run this sim well. Cost was about $1800 for the parts. "You see, IronHand is my thing" My specs: W10 Pro, I5/11600K o/c to 4800 @1.32v, 64 GB 3200 XML RAM, Red Dragon 7800XT/16GB.
RodBorza Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Yep. I ran the Betas in a Duo Core 2 1.6 Ghz, ATI 4770 and 2 GB Ram, all in Win 7 32 bits. It's amaze me that a game so comlex can run in my rig, however it is in all minimum settings, with the exceptions of high textures. I'm willing to change my Win 7 to 64 bit, add more run (at least 2 Gb more) and changing the video card. Any suggestions? This is an amazing sim! 'Nuff said!:pilotfly: YouTube: SloppyDog

Kaiza Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 I have a mate with a 2.Ghz dual core of some description, GTX250 and 8 gig of RAM on Win 7. Any comments from the tech gurus on whether he will be able to run high textures (even if everything else is med/low)? chokko Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 i'm getting a freeze with win7x64 at enemy weapon launch, sometimes lasting a couple of secs which has caused me to crash into ground This does not happen with win7 32bit. I've installed the o/s side by side...I only installed 64bit yesterday when i noticed that the req o/s for a10c is now 64bit and wanted to compare performance. sim is running off same ssd (installed twice to seperate folders) i7-920@4.0, gtx295coop [ 266.58 ] at 1680x1050, 6gb ram, auzen forte, warthog, mfd, trackir5.1 2xAA handled by vid card high tex high scenes civ traffic off water low vis range high heat blur off shadows low cockpit res 256 msaa off so if 64bit is the way to go, how do i fix the freeze when missile launches/zu23 fires for first time? cheers [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
