atledreier Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Noob missionmaker, but I actually read the manual. I'm trying to create a mission where I want to have a wingman. I set the number of aircraft to 2, and the first is Client. I can't set the other one to client, I have to create a new flight to get another client. I can set AI wingmen to my clients, though. What am I doing wrong?
HiJack Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Human wingman needs a new flight group. AI wingman (up to 3) can be in your group.
atledreier Posted April 18, 2011 Author Posted April 18, 2011 Ok, so there's no way I can have my friend as my wingman in a MP mission. and share the flightplan. Seems a little restrictive, tbh. Do you know if there's a reason for that design decision?
McVittees Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I believe it's just a limitation of the way multiplayer code is handled at the moment. atledreier Posted April 18, 2011 Author Posted April 18, 2011 Fair enough. :) Seems a bit backward to copy the flightplan for an 8player flight, is all. But no biggie, we'll handle it! :)
PE_Tigar Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 What my team finds itself doing a lot due to this is setting the NET settings on TAD to Group ID and Own ID as we want it (one group, and then Own IDs as per our plan).
atledreier Posted April 20, 2011 Author Posted April 20, 2011 Yes, we are doing that as well. But the mission makers have to make the same flightplan for all members of the flight for that to be loaded in the DTS at startup. Resolved that by making them something else, I dunno what. We get them as waypoints anyway. :) Can you tell we're noobs yet? ;)
Cibit Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 You can put down NAV points in the game and in the briefing name the order you need to fly to them. So 1st waypoint is NAV point Edsel fly there first. It means changing your steerpoint dial to mission from flightplan position but saves on the editorial work:) Oh and to scroll through the NAV points use the rocker on the left of UFC:thumbup: i5 8600k@5.2Ghz, Asus Prime A Z370, 32Gb DDR4 3000, GTX1080 SC, Oculus Rift CV1, Modded TM Warthog Modded X52 Collective, Jetseat, W10 Pro 64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Adding JTAC Guide //My Vid's//229th AHB
Noraf Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Being the editor Atle is talking about, i allready are using navpoints ;) I might later start using waypoints though. I have also started assigning the same callsign to the clients ( ie. pig 1-1, pig 2-1, pig 3-1 ect ) It'll probably take some getting used to , to fully get tha hang of this editor, so if you folks have a link to a manual for it, it would be nice Have a nice easter folks, and happy hunting
