I hope some people may be able to do some play testing and give me some feedback please. This is a roughish draft of a mission but before I spend an eternity getting it right I would like to get some impressions from players as to how they find it replayability etc.

Anyways here is the briefing to give you an idea of what its about

Mission by Cib

This is a work in progress. For the sake of realism I feel this mission should be played with all tasking requests etc going through the AFAC. The AFAC should call all the attacks and be in overall command of all air assets within his AO. The JTACS will are there to help Nail33 get started, mission critical info will be broadcast throughout the flight only to the AFAC.

ATC's and airfield info.

Beslan 141.0Mhz AM ILS 10,110.5 Elevation 1771 runway 10 93 Degrees runway 28 273 Degrees

Nalchik 136.0Mhz AM ILS 24,110.5

Elevation 1410 runway 06 55 Degrees runway 24 235 Degrees

FAC Nail 33 will depart Beslan to a kill box SW of Tiblisi.

Soviet forces are massing for a big push on the town. The Russian Arty is the primary objective.

Before the OPFOR can get to Tiblisi they have to get past pockets of resistance at Rustavi and Marneuli, concentrate your first search south west of these towns

Nail 33 has TGP, WP and loulou's + 2x mavs. The FAC is also required to call on the British Tornado's to conduct a SEAD flight before our hogs can fly around the enemy AO.

A drone is available to assist on 131 AM

Also a US SF team are on the ground somewhere in Rustavi. Callsign Axeman 1 on 31 FM

Tanker East of AO Tacan 12X freq 150 AM

AWACS 134 AM

All other call signs are 124 AM

Nail FAC is available on 252 UHF

Dodge 251 UHF

Enfield 235 UHF

Hawg 236 UHF

Main attack flights Dodge and Enfield armed with Anti Armour loadout, Tusk carry mixed loadout . They should set a waypoint to NAV Point EDSEL hold there and contact Nail 33 for targets.

Battlefield airspace de-confliction

AWACS 30,000ft +

SEAD 27,000ft

NAIL33 18,000ft

Tanker 17,000ft

Enfield 16,500ft

Dodge 15,500ft

Hawg 14,500ft

Hard deck 10,000 till advised by AFAC

*Made to be played with TARS

**NAIL33 keep to your waypoints till AO

***A knowledge of Buddy lasing, inputing Lat/Long co-ords, Spi sharing techniques is useful :)

****The suspension of belief helps when flying out of Russian bases to attack Russian ground forces. Sorry :)

In the limited testing I have been able to do MP wise it seems that the host is best suited for radio command duties IE calling in SEAD.

I should also mention its for seven players at the moment but this will be scaleable in later editions. 1 AFAC for 3 x 2 ship flights

Ok checked it out.... as the AFAC

I called in the SEAD and never heard anything

The AWACS didnt answer.

The 2nd JTAC (axeman) didnt complete his coodinate call but some Lat/Lon coords came in via text message after I called "read back" i think.

I searched around the southwest of the 2 towns and found nothing (looking on roads)

I did find some burning buildings near Tiblisi airport

I gave up after about 40 mins in the air. I guess I should have thrown in those coords but i didnt.

Hey Snuggles thanks a lot. I know this still needs polishing but I am trying to get voices into the mission atm. Then I can work more on unit placement. Wish I could find out how to get satellite view in editor

Hi Jeffyd,

The idea is the first co-ords give a guide to the first targets. Once they are taken out there is a fresh set of co-ordinates for a new target and so on. Maybe the first part of detection is too difficult. I have made some slight adjustments and started some of the groups on roads. As there are few roads in he location this should help.

It is supposed to be quite hardcore though, I play too many missions with easy to find stuff I wanted to make a difficult mission.;)

I have not had any problems contacting or hearing the various aircraft once I change to the right freqs. Trouble with editing is the time it takes to stop the mission and get back to the editor. Nearly 5 minutes a time:mad:

As the mission progresses messages are sent to afac with coords. There is also jtac to contact via radio, freq in briefing. For texting afac starts in air

And no AI to attack the targets you find. Needs Mp

I have used all day in mission designer and could not get JTAC to work as expected and just now found that I am running on the patched 1.1.0.6 build (patched to 1.1.0.7 with only the patch file). Made a mission on my unpatched 1.1.0.7 (installed with the 1.1.0.7 build) computer and it seams to work differently. Need some sleep now but will reinstall tomorrow morning ;)

Anyone else have strange issues with JTAC/AFAC and not getting 9-line task data?
