Hmm, you are correct, not when this issue appeared as you could certainly release without issues in earlier versions. Bug confirmed and reported.

Not sure exactly what the subject of the bug is exactly. Not being able to pickel a GBU weapon without a TGP loaded?

Noting an older post, laser guided munitions should fall long of taget without guidance from a laser. This speaking of real life occurances of course. So not really sure if that could be considered a bug as well...probably just something that isn't modeled.

I tried to use buddy laser flying online but I wasn't able to pick the laser on the TGP. We had both the same codes, 1866. But I never got a DETECT on the TGP. Also my bombs, after I switch the code to 1866, were not able to track the laser from my aircraft. Strange...

Just curious, did you change the laser on the TGP as well? You might have changed the bombs to 1866, but the TGP must be set to emit and detect on the 1866 as well. You must change the code in three places per airplane.

In real life you can't change the PRF code on the bomb, that's built in by the ordnance dudes prior to loading on the plane. For LGB's the fuzing is set there as well.

Hope this helps.

1. The code the bomb looks for

2. The code the TGP emits

3. The code the TGP scans for (LSS)

It's pretty easy to get those mixed up with somebody else in the air also trying to lase/buddy lase.

And just like Eddie said, yes, you should be able to drop LGBs without the TGP.

Ok. Rossi's guide to buddy lasing:

1. Agree a laser code.

2. For the bomber, set the laser code on the bomb

3. For the laser, set the laser code on the TGP (via CNTL > L page)

4. The laser pilot finds a target. Marks it as his SPI.

5. Share that SPI with your bomber. Either by:

Looking on TAD to see where his SPI is pointing to. Hooking your buddies aircraft and clicking Send. Setting the LSS code on the TGP to the same as your buddies laser code and setting the TGP to Laser Search Mode.

6. Once the bomber has the target, set it as SPI (for the bomber)

7. Select your laser guided bombs via DSMS

8. Select CCRP mode via Master Mode Select button

9. Flight toward SPI, straight and level. Watch the bomb fall line. When it drops, hold down the pickle button. Weapon should release when it passes through the circle.

10. Your buddy should lase the target at least 10 to 15 seconds before impact (the time of the impact is shown to on the left of the bombers HUD)

11. Splash one target.

If you are using GPS guided munitions you must have full EGI alignment on the ground.

A quick question Ross, does MSG page send and receive function work in mp? I tried in SP but the manual never states what to write but how. AI must have syntax for understanding, ya?

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Datalink messages work in MP. AI don't understand datalink text or tasks. Own flight will use broadcast SPI to with "attack with" commands.

Any idea on a form?

Or is it the 9-line? Better yet, any guide on that?

Last night tried this with a friend of mine with DCS World 1.5 beta. First we used the default laser code 1688 and everything worked fine. Then changed mine to 1687 on my TGP and lased a target for him. He was still able to find my lased target with LSS using code 1688 and his LGBs destroyed the target. He was not lasing himself and his bombs were set to default 1688 also. Is the laser code modelled correctly in 1.5?

Hey, man. Start a new thread in the bugs and problems subforum. This is a 4 year old necro.
