Thanks for this:thumbup:.

I tend not to be that great at the editor so to have a miz i can use and customize to my needs is what i need.

Will try this out soon.

Glad you've found it useful. Thanks for the positive comments... makes the work with it.

I started this mission by creating a practice platform for myself. It increased my ability with the GAU so much that I expanded it for wide consumption.

If there's something else you'd like to see in the mission that might make it more effective, tell me and I'll make it happen.

Thanks :)

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

Updated and re-uploaded TankBusting101.miz

-Set the time/weather for morning mission

-Added smoke on ground under 'floating' smoke to show ground level 1.5m distance from target

-Added more tankbusting tips in the triggered text

-Removed end mission enemy AA on runway.. that just wasn't fair..

-Enhanced 21 explosion salute on mission success

-Set 2nd wave aggressive T80s to 'excellent' skill.. they were just too easy on average

Man, thanks a lot for this mission!

At the moment, this is the only mission for me to fly, and it improved my GAU-8 skills, significantly.

Yesterday, I made it through for the first time (okay, I had to RTB, twice...).

I guess I will carry on until I accomplish to make it through without RTB'ing.

Cheers!

Enjoyed the mission. 10 per drum on first try, 14 on second.

Edit: Busted all 16 with single drum on third try. Landed with 50 rounds left. :)

My tips: Dive angle -35° ... -45°, fire at 0.4 nm distance, aim at center to maximize hits. That way you'll need 40-60 rounds for a kill. But you can easily fly yourself into terrain that way, so be careful.

Track recorded in DCS World 1.2.2, doesn't seem to work well in 1.2.3

Thanks StrongHarm,

I've used this to practise my gun runs. Lately i've taken to editing the mission to load up on cbus and mavs to practise taking out a rolling column.

Is anyone still using this mission to practice gun runs? Any bugs for the latest versions?

Nice mission! Not too invasive but informative and a cool ending. My first try took a while since I got all but 3 tanks on one load and had to rearm.

Tank Busting 101

I've been using this as a way back into the A10 after not playing it for a year. I changed a couple things though:

I made more of a delay between flares as they were overlapping too much

I changed the nearby airport to blue so I could rearm and refuel there

Great mission!

Thanks for all of the positive comments! This mission refreshes my skills if I haven't done a lot of gun work in a while. Any other suggestions for enhancements?

If you want a similar mission that incorporates more weapon and target types, check out my mission Live Fire Exercise. It's CO8 or SP and also contains a lot of voice overs and dynamic content.

I've created a new version of Tankbusting101 specifically for NTTR/DCS2.0.

You can find it in user files:

Tried this yesterday for the first time. Great training tool! Is there a way to trigger the flares or do they trigger randomly?
