  1. This is easily avoided by signing the files, but I'm not sure if DCS autoupdater has this feature.
  2. I don't want to rant, but this issue is far more important than it looks at first glance. Low FPS not only degrades visual experience, - it degrades gameplay itself. With inconsitent/low FPS player barely controls aircraft, since his muscle memory goes way out of sync with the game. For i.e. - it is a huge pleasure to rip tanks with GAU-8 when FPS is good (i.e. - empty map with 5 stationary units), but it becomes a complete pain when your FPS is low, or worse - jumps from 40 to 10 in the middle of the dive. This experience interpolates pretty much on every activity in DCS and it becomes painful just to play this game. We can dream of any aircraft in the world to be introduced into DCS, but if FPS issues will be resolved - it can prolong joy from existing aircraft almost indefinitely. This is a #1 issue for me. Dynamic campaigns, F/A-18 and Nevada - all of this is pointless with low FPS, - it would be just as painful to play as already existing stuff.
  3. I do that on live tanks as well. They don't fire because of the angle.
  4. Imagine a line going straight from the runway into the air. And then imagine a point on this line somewhere 10 nm away from runway. The ATC is giving you the heading from your current position to that point each time you poll him. So if you are close to that point (within 20 nm), even slight deviation in heading can change advised by ATC heading drastically as you close in.
  5. This is how I do it. -35° ... -45° dive, 0.3 ... 0.4 nm range. 40-60 round kills and low chance of backfire (tanks in video are inert, however). I can highly recommend this mission by StrongHarm for practice - http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=72549
  6. I read some speculations on russian forums that Belsimtek is essentially a Minsk branch of ED, just with a different name. So it's a good thing they are involved, two heads are better than one.
  7. I wonder how many Top Gun jokes/scenes they are going to reuse.
  8. The issue is still present in DCS World: A-10C 1.2.3.9871 In-flight navigation systems realignment after loss of power results in corrupted position calculated by CDU. Affects navigation data on the HUD. On screenshot: Real data: TAD WP1: DK 519 754, barometric altitude: 830 ft Corrupted data: CDU POS page: DK 595 596, altitude: -2094 ft (negative altitude)
  9. Enjoyed the mission. 10 per drum on first try, 14 on second. Edit: Busted all 16 with single drum on third try. Landed with 50 rounds left. :) My tips: Dive angle -35° ... -45°, fire at 0.4 nm distance, aim at center to maximize hits. That way you'll need 40-60 rounds for a kill. But you can easily fly yourself into terrain that way, so be careful. Track recorded in DCS World 1.2.2, doesn't seem to work well in 1.2.3 buster101.zip
  10. What was happening in april/may last year? Multiplayer issues related to FC3?
  11. You kidding me, right? http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=100554 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=100410 These your "reports" are only decipherable through telepathy and clairvoyance and are the prime examples of what I am talking about.
  12. Open Beta tests and events on major projects like Diablo or BF are done not to test the game itself, but rather test their services and networks for load and gather automated reports. Unless you have QA full of masters of telepathy and fortune telling, who can guess a song from 2 notes, checking actual bug reports from amateurs is a waste of resources.
  13. And suddenly all 1.2.3 patch talks ceased. I smell a conspiracy here.
  14. There's no shared codebase defined as AFM, if I understand correctly. Each AFM is unique, - i.e. A-10C has its' own AFM, GBU-12 - its' own, etc. Su-25 AFM is kind of dated, since it has been introduced in 2005 with FC1, IIRC.
  15. Both Su-25 variants already have AFM, although not as advanced as A-10C
  16. That's easy to say when you have 1-hour distance to coffeshops :D
  17. If you want to criticize developers, - be constructive and reasonable. Don't be that entitled, insatiable consumer with burned dopamine receptors that always feels that everyone owns him something. Last thing you want for this franchise - is a developers that have an impression that they have shitty and hostile community, which will inevitably worsen the product by far. Please, ED guys, take note that the vast majority of all this critique comes from jaded vocal minority, who are impossible to satisfy by design. I'm sure that people who didn't loose the ability to enjoy games in general are very happy with how your products are progressing.
  18. The men and women differ, but not on the scale you picture. There is zero objectivity in what you imply by "her true identity". There is no reasons women can't fight the wars, explore the space, do a volcano research, or do whatever humans do or did before.
  19. I can confirm that AI wingman in 1.2.2.7570 executes orders weirdly, i.e. - attacks trucks when 'Engage bandits' order issued and so on.
  20. Yes. This is the cause, but not the explanation. After in-flight re-alignment aircraft should receive its correct position. Otherwise, - what is the purpose of this feature then? EDIT: And as I mentioned, the issue remains after landing, shutdown and cold start with ground aligning.
  21. After in-flight engine failure and emergency restart re-aligning NAV systems in CDU results in incorrect position reported by all three GPS, INS and Blended mode sources. Position from this sources becomes shifted by certain offset in all 3 dimensions (you can see negative altitude value on one of the screenshot below). This heavily affects navigation data on IFCC. Ground realigning and complete shutdown - start-up sequences doesn't fix the issue, position is still shifted. On this screenshot you can see on the TAD that aircraft is close (withing 1-2 nm, also confirmed by visual) to WP1 which has GG 376 460 grid (same on CDU WP page of this waypoint), while POS page on CDU reports my grid as GG 405 284, as well as it reports negative altitude of -631 feet. On IFCC you can see reported distance to WP1 as 9.7 nm. Issue is easily reproducible Steps to reproduce: 1. Attain high altitude 2. Fly inverted until engines stop due to fuel system failure. 3. Shutdown engines by pressing RAlt+End and RCtrl+End. 4. Start APU, restore gen power, start engines. 5. On CDU choose page NAV -> page ALIGN and issue INFLIGHT aligning. 6. Wait until T = 5.5.0.8, switch to NAV mode, switch to EGI mode. 7. Try to validate your position data on POS page in CDU. Track included, recorded with 1.2.2 DCS World A-10C module ifcc_bug.trk
