lobo Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Just flew a 2 hour 32 min flight. Checking out the AoA indicator and the max range, max endurance and landing markings. Very kewl. Tried it low tried it high. Did some basic navigation HUD work and and fiddling with the CDU. Displaying winds aloft, ground speed, did some diverts, approaches, and NOE flight. Burned 10,300 lbs of fuel, landed with 800lbs remaining and both fuel low level caution lights on. Taxied to the ramp and shut down with a big smile on my face. Awesome SIM! Had a great flight and I never even turned the master arm on! Lobo's DCS A-10C Normal Checklist & Quick Reference Handbook current version 8D available here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/172905/
Zenra Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 + 1 at least - been there, and done that, too- often. Nothin' wrong with it - it's a great sim and worthy of just flying when that's what you have tome for. wtfisgoingon Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 + 1 I've spent countless hours doing cold starts, flying around in every area and type of weather. I just love it and can't wait for the next in the series! I've barely even figured out the weapon systems yet! :) i7-920 @3.8Ghz / MSI X58m / 8GB DDR3 / 2 x HD5770 / Asus-vw226h @1920x1200 / 2x OCZ Vertex 2 80GB SSD's / Win 7-64 / TrackIR 5 / Saitek x52 / Razer BlackWidow Mech Keyboard / Razer Deathadder Stuttering or fps problems? ralfidude Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Im guessing in my head what that next DCS fixed wing aircraft it is they are currently working on. But i sure hope its the f16 (though already done), so probably something like f18, or f15. The DCS model for it is absolutely orgasmic already. Malleus Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 +1, it's totally cool just to fly the plane in A-10C. It works well as a "flight sim" too, not just as a "combat sim".
Nu-NRG Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 +1. Hearing it come to life, taking it in to the air, flying it (it behaves nothing like a fighter jet), landing it ... you never get enough of it! Aviate - Navigate - Communicate
