VirusAM Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 (edited) I'm having a real issue, has been from the first beta that i'm flying this pretty sim mainly offline in order to learn well the plane, anyway in the last days i tried some multiplayer flights with friends of mine and every time a start a mission from ramp i have problems starting the plane. Now i can assure you that offline i do every day 2 or 3 missions always starting from ramp and every time i follow the same checklist(based on the beautiful warriorX one)managing to start the plane, taking off and doing my mission. But online if i take my throttle from off to idle simply the engines don't start, the needles begins to move but then they stops, i have to put the engines switch to motor, and repeat the procedure 4-5 times before the engines decide finally to start. the first time i thought it was me making a mistake, but now i'm sure that i'm doing exaclty the same procedures both offline and online, but simply online the engines don't start. Can someone help me please? Nate--IRL-- Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 That is a strange one, perhaps a mix up of game and sim joystick configs? Ideally, if you can, please post a track of the Multiplayer start up you are performing. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
VirusAM Posted May 4, 2011 Author Posted May 4, 2011 Ok, Nate, thanks for the answer, as soon as possible i will provide a track with both a multiplayer and single player start up sequence... slowhand Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 By what means do you start your engine?do you just bump your throttle(if yes ck your key bindings) or do you use the rt alt home to start the left one and the rt ctrl home to start the right one? always make sure your throttle is fully closed before you start. also wait till your apu is fully spooled before you start the engines as well.:pilotfly: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] SMOKE'M:smoke: IF YA GOT'M!:gun_rifle: H2o Cooler I7 9700k GA 390x MB Win 10 pro Evga RTX 2070 8Gig DD5 32 Gig Corsair Vengence, 2T SSD. Bonesx Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 The exact same thing is happening to my brother and I. Whenever we try to do a cold start in any Multiplayer game the engines will not start. We get all the way up to the point of moving the engines from OFF to IDLE and nothing works. Remapping keys, etc nothing. We load up a single player game, and get to the same point. Hit LALT+HOME and RCTRL+HOME and it moves right off idle and spins up the engines without fail. By the same token doing the Autostart never powers up the engines either. It goes through as much as it can, but ultimately the engines never spool up. Once again, only in multiplayer maps.
Nate--IRL-- Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Please be sure the throttle on your joystick is at 0 before starting engines Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Bonesx Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Please be sure the throttle on your joystick is at 0 before starting engines Nate Yeah it is. We both have the Saitek X52 Flight control system. Before each mission we place our throttles all the way back to the --0-- mark. It goes up to --100--
nemises Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Hi guys, Be aware there is 2 control sets 1) Game 2) Simulation This is defined by the mission in multiplayer, NOT the client.. So, if in single player you normally are set to "Game" , it may be that the mission you are loading up in Multiplayer is set to "Simulator" (or is it "real"..whichever") , which means you may have a differnt control set alltogether. The "simple" solution is to set up your controls in "Simulation" , and always only ever use that ;) Alternatively, open the multiplayer mission in your mission editor, and chanhge the setting that forces "Sim only".
BasilFaulty Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 (edited) I had the same problem, if u have set up your controls for sim mode then copy the the folder C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\Config\Input\AC10 , to C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\Config\Input\AC10_easy, saves you having to reassign all the controls again for easy, if you have set up the controls for easy mode then copy the folder ac10_easy to ac10. 53U Joker Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I play the game in sim mode with my hotas warthog and when i do a cold start in single player both throttles are recognized immediately in off position for engines strt up , in multy not , i must move both throttles from off to max and back otherwise they are not recognized.. ps i 've check hotas sync in the options.....

Thanks for all the replies. That appears to be the issue. I think we were are little confused. When editing the mission we did not select the two options that make it simple. We wanted it to be simulation. But apparently you have to actually select the options that make it simple, but then not "Enforce" them. Thanks
BasilFaulty Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Thats exactly what was happening to me Joker with my Hotas Warthog, I copyed the contents of the ac10 folder to ac10_easy and it fixed the problems for me, all works fine now.
BobSimmerman Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Same thing here, did a successful startup last night in the first campaign mission and have yet to get the engines to start again. Works fine in missions that start you in the air, but for whatever reason the ramp start throttles working worked once, and one time only. Honestly, this is quite annoying. I will try to move files around as stated. Finding it hard to believe the things broken in this game. HP Omen 870-244, GTX 1080, 32GB DDR4, 1TB OS, 500 GB NVMe SSD, TM Warthog
=Panther= Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Why copy and paste, move stuff around when you can use the built in option; "use these settings in all missions?" It's located on the gameplay screen in the options. BasilFaulty Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 That was the first thing I tryed Rehtnap, but it would not work for me for some reason it would always use the settings for game mode online, I even went though and remapped all the controls to be the same as sim mode but every time I join an online game the throttles on my warthog hotas failed to respond from a ramp start, I had to use the keyboard short cut to enable the throttles, a small annoyance and very strange, the only fix for me was to copy.
woodyk Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 I believe I have fixed the problem - I had this very very frustrating issue!!!! You get into the cockpit think you've got the start up procedure to a T and then when you move your left throttle fwd it doesn't kick start the turbine, right? Ok well here's the fix: (make sure you save .lua fule in a separate loc if you do not want it perm overwritten - all will become clear!!!) 1. Go into A10C and then OPTIONS and then CONTROLS (on the single player not multiplayer). If using TM Warthog (or whichever rig you have) then click in one of the config columns (with the GAME tab selected - so basically you're updating the controls for game not simulation mode. 2. Then click on LOAD PROFILE and copy the .lua profile for your rig from the A10C folder. NB when you click LOAD PROFILE it will default to the A10C Easy folder you need to find the sim mode sub-folder. 3. Do this for both THROTTLE AND STICK and finally click on MISC and uncheck 'synch TM Warthog at mission start' or something to that effect. Do not ask me why this works - after racking my brains out for nearly four hours and pain stakingly trying and testing combinations I go this to work!!!!
