that must be a older Mig-29 from 80's and no question i would think that Russia would ever sell there goods to US. FAA ask jet planes be striped all weapons systems everything an has to be FAA regulations.

but this nice video if pay 12 million buy one from early 1980's ^^

I'm not sure about you but I personally would take that MiG-29 for a spin every weekend if it was mine. Maybe even ride with the top down on some days.:D

Actually, the only MiG-29 that has been in the US for a while now was bought through the "black-market", and is currently here...

Even if it was mine, i couldn't even afford a one time one minute run up. :D

i would of like see Russian planes used by us military an give up there F-16 to a more advanced Mig-35 that has thrust vectoring 360 degs. last time usa had 360 deg thurst vectoring was when X-31 expermnatal with usa and germany similer looks to Eurofighte.

too bad X-31 could been big replacement to F-16 with very low profile smaller an able achive and hold steady angel of attack.. ^^

... and who's buying MiG-35's?

Vectored thrust is a waste of money in many cases. Where it has specific applications it is used - note F-22 vs. F-35.

if Vectory thrust is a waste of money if you put it then i guess F-22 an F-35 was a waste like the RAH-66 programe went down the tube. 60 billion project washed away.

well as far as i know Mig-35 seeing several sales that are interested in the Mig-35.

if havent noticed vectoring thurst is a great deal to since dog fighting always be there. why Russia so invaled in agitity an push man machie pass limits the human body an plane can take.. recored recored by the PAK T-50 was 12+ g's maxaum kill for pilot but guess Russians made a new g suit for that secert..

The MiG-35 has seen zero sales.

What will vectored thrust do for you against a moderm dogfighting missile? (Answer: Nothing).

By the way, F-15's already pulled 12g's in Desert Storm. ;)

Right on Moldova (poorest country in Europe btw...)

Wrong it's not the only one. And "Black-market" hm, I guess it's more like the "MiGs for food-program"

At Nellis AFB there's something they call "Petting Zoo" there's a lot of Soviet/Russian hardware around. (Like SAMs, radars etc.)

36°13'51.21"N 115° 3'4.73"W

Check it with Google Earth and see it yourself: There is a MiG-29 (green camo, with it's Moldovan Markings removed) standing at the gate...

Hm, seems like it has been moved now, the newest pictures (5/29/2010) show it at: 36°13'39.32"N 115° 3'37.54"W

And at NAS Fallon there's another one: http://pilot.strizhi.info/photos/v/NAS+Fallon/

Former Moldovan AF too (Попал в Америку из Молдавии-Came to America from Moldova)

But I am sure they tested what they wanted to test after they received it, just like germany did with the former NVA (GDR AF) aircraft :joystick:

India has recently rejected MiG-35 programme, without their market I don't know any big customer around who really wants to buy MiGs.

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

What will vectored thrust do for you aginst a modern dogfighting X-Wing like fighter against a missle? (Answer: Nothing also).. anyway its 2011 world should be more focused on space travel.. no one thinking about that only thinking of 20th century planes. all that complex avonics no real brains about makeing a starship.

about F-15 pulling 12 Desert storm what reason pulling 12 g's was he in a dogfight with Su-27 or in a dogfight with against a SAM guess that a question yet answear.. haha XD

for myself i had to serve japan military i forced in and did mimal 4 years of service honestly didnt like it what point flying AH-1 to tight in there and cant really move. anyway glad finished those 4 years. boring. only thing happy flying.

Okay, so you answer an actual fact with a flippant comment. Ok.

Actually he got a bit excited about dogfighting a MiG-25. I know it happened with a SAM also. That is a little beside the point, but I see that you're still not getting it.

Pulling 12gs is impressive but most jet fighters are designed to sustain that kind of stress as structural load safety margin; but is not something you want to do all the time because it damages the airplane. Also one thing is pulling 12gs instantaneously and other being able to sustain 12 gs for an extended period of time. Take for example aerobatic airplanes; they go up to 12gs and -10 (SU-31 wing spar tested up to 23gs!) but you just can't sustain 12 gs for too long; you would black out; aerobatic airplanes don't have the power and speed to keep high g turns for too long. Indy racing pilots have gone even higher than 50gs but that is on a split second during crashes.

If tvc is so worthless why most of the recent su-30mk customers opted to get it. Just because it was used carelessly on a training exercise by rookie pilots it doesn't mean it is worthless. Tvc gives you more instantaneous turn rate and improves your sustained turn rate; it also makes your airplane safer since you can easily get out of flat spins by using tvc(in the case of su-30 and mig-35otv). The real problem of the su-30 mki is that it is a fighter that has become heavier than the original su-27; that is why they are putting new engines on the su-35. The russians had admitted that due to the fall of the soviet union the development of more powerful engines got stuck; the only thing they were able to do was to do upgrades on their engines.

Hey.. didn't something happen very similarly in another conflict.... Pilot wasn't looking, Weapons officer had to pull hard before the F-15E collided with the ground? Or was that my imagination? Drat, must've been another one of those wishful dreams :D

Yep, it's your imagination. In fact it's so much your imagination that I'm not familiar with such an incident on any aircraft type.

I don't know about the Indians, but in many cases TVC is primarily desired because of efficiency gains at high altitude cruise. The dogfighting aspect is nice, but it isn't the only thing it is good for.
