Was taking off on a map of The Serpents Head when SLAM, GAU-8/A-steering.

Last time I took off from Vaziani there was also a SLAM but nothing happened so I took off as planned. On external view I noticed a big black spot on the left engine. Anyone else run into this?

See track file.

I usually turn it off just as it hits 50, but I'll view the track again to check

Edit: Yep, turned off NWS at ~50 IAS. The nosewheel snapped off at ~115 IAS.

I usually use the time feature on long taxi runs (which is why you see the unstable wobble and too high speeds in the track) but I was dicking around on another flight and managed to takeoff from the taxi strip then land on the runway with no problems, with roughly the same loadout and weight.

Only run into this problem at Vaziani.

On a side note, watching the plane scrape along the runway at 120 knots supported by a gatling gun is mindblowingly awesome

You got to grass from taxiway, you never were in runway, you were on grass about 50 meters of your starting spot. Asked there takeoff clearance 4 times and took off on grass, well sort of took off...

I was never on the grass. I took off from the same spot the AI takes off from. I asked for clearance 4 times because I didn't see or notice the helicopter on the runway.

Are we on the same patch here? Or am I not part of the formula.

this is getting funny - saved your trk on my machine - check it out - it's your track same track

It's identical from my point of view, except 0.05MB smaller. Is it different for you? Did I make it to the runway on your track?

weird.... no you drove off taxiway on the grass and got stuck there then engines full and started to move and nosegear went kaboom. Ths is really weird how can it show it differently on my machine?!?!? I have 1.1.0.8. Could someone else see the trk and tell what happens in there, or is my machine just like weird or sum?

Your video showed normally to me, you took off and nice fireworks

Iceman2011, that's two tracks now where you see different behaviour than what was recorded. I suggest you look into whether your installation is correct. Have you updated to 1.1.0.8?

I wouldn't trust track recordings as far as I could throw Manhattan.

As Paul mentioned there are spots on some runways that will somehow rip your gear off. I've run into quite a few of them at different runways actually.

Yep, I've found a couple of these as well, some places just completely obliterate your landing gears irregardless off your current speed.

Ghost in the machine .... s ?

Only one track showed different in my machine, yours was like it happened, green plane at runway takeoff, nosegear blown off for awhile etchasketch.

Really would like to know how can a .trk, show different actions depending on machine it's run on.

Shouldn't be anything wrong with my installation, I have latest version, and all other .trks btw I have downloaded, have been normal.

MasterZelgadis your track showed you gaining speed at runway, then started turn too much right, you tried to raise the nose, it didn't, continue to turn right and finally you were on grass, runway ended, aaaand at full speed on grass booooooom.

In 32 bit version I take off (tanking longer than normal to test the runway for that bad spot), turning left, testing around with the trim system, landing, taking off the other direction, trying to fly through an open hangar (which happened to be a not so open airport terminal :D), and landing again...

I will upload a video to youtube.

When I play my track in 64 bit version, it happens like you said. Going off the rwy and crashing into the grass

"Sieh nur, wie majestätisch du durch die Luft segelst. Wie ein Adler. Ein fetter Adler."

I've lost the front on takeoff before. Don't remember what airport though. Tossed the front end up in the air and i was airborn. Did some Damage assessment and the front wheel was gone and couldn't raise the front gear. I'm thinking some of the cracks in the concrete runways are larger than graphically shown.
