awdrgyjo Posted June 18, 2011 Author Posted June 18, 2011 If you had the choice of these options to run BS what would you go for? 4GB KINGSTON HYPER X SPECIAL DDR3 2133MHz or 8GB KINGSTON HYPER X GENESIS DUAL DDR3 1600MHz X. M. P. thanks in advance.
Kuky Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Definitely go 8GB of RAM PS: GPU is video card (Graphics Processing Unit) PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
awdrgyjo Posted June 18, 2011 Author Posted June 18, 2011 Definitely go 8GB of RAM PS: GPU is video card (Graphics Processing Unit) Theres no spec what the video card is, I contacted the company and they said the video card is on the graphics card which is GTX 580. Would 8GB of RAM running at 2133MHz make a significant difference, its a lot more cash, so I don't want to buy something that is wasted if I am just playing BS, thanks again for your help I'm almost ready to order!
Kuky Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 GTX580 is current fastest single GPU video card from nVidia, just google for its if you want to know more of its specs. About that RAM, 1600MHz is enough, you don't have to waste money on 2133MHz one PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
Pilotasso Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Lower latency is better then higher clock. there is ample choice for latencies within the 1600MHZ range. :) .
awdrgyjo Posted June 18, 2011 Author Posted June 18, 2011 OK just to confirm, GTX 580 1.5GB [graphics card] 8MB RAM 1600MHz BLACK CAVIAR 7200RPM SATA [hard drive] I7 2600K [CPU] ASUA P8P67 SATA 6.0 GB crossfireX [motherboard] triple copper heated heat pipe, NOT LIQUID COOLED So, this will run BS flat out no probs, thank you very very much.
awdrgyjo Posted June 18, 2011 Author Posted June 18, 2011 One other thing, I can upgrade the motherboard to an SLI, will this make a difference, thanks in advance.

Kuky Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 One other thing, I can upgrade the motherboard to an SLI, will this make a difference, thanks in advance. If you go SLI you will need another video card of same brand/type so you're looking at more money there, and really unless you're running massive resolutions with multiple monitors I personally don't think SLI is worth the money. Looks good, this will run A-10C maxed  If you're only going to use one screen you could look at getting a GTX 570 instead of the 580. There is a very steep price difference between the two as compared to actual effect and getting the 570 would clear up around $200-250 which you can use on a decent SSD :book: But yes, that's a good pc build. 159th_Viper Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Before you hit the 'Buy' button, be sure to check out Overclockers.co.uk. I went through this dance a year or so ago and they were by far the best/cheapest in the UK for pre-built systems. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? awdrgyjo Posted June 18, 2011 Author Posted June 18, 2011 Sorry, last question before I press the "buy now " button, regardless of price what motherboard would be your choice: ASUS P8Z68 PRO ASUS P8P67 DELUXE This is my very last question on this subject, thank you very much for your very kind contributions, you have saved me a lot of money, and most importantly, a machine that covers all the parameters, and that will fly BS flat out, awdrgyjo signing off.
EtherealN Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 If the price is the same, I'd go for the P8Z68-V PRO. If the P67 one is cheaper, I'd go for that one. Basically, the main difference between them is that the Z68 board allows you to use the CPU's integrated graphics chip, which the P67 does not allow. However, I doubt you'll actually use that feature (I have a P67 board and I don't really see myself having a use for the iGPU either), and they're pretty much equivalent in the other respects. And yeah, that looks like an amazing rig. It'll keep you maxing games for a long time. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
