Well I thought I'd either seen or read about all the detail this wonderful study sim has to offer but I've not seen this before.

I had just landed at Batumi and was just pulled off the runway in the turn around pans at the upwind end of the runway. Having a good look at my Helios pit when I noticed the AOA guage swinging from full scale one way to the other. Looking outside I was amazed to see that because I was tail into wind the AOA vane was being blown about in unison. When I taxied around it to wind it weather cocked back to it's normal position.

Now if that's not attention to detail then I don't know what is. :pilotfly:

the sim would be better if there was a pizza cooker somewhere in the pit though. LOL

Good find! it amazes me too... its really bizarre to think that this is nothing but the output of a computer.

Don't worry, that ships with the boxed copy.

I found something the other day, or at least I think I did:

I had set up a mission to over-fly the highest peaks on the map. I had also set the winds aloft to be a strong tail-wind as I wanted a large ground speed during my decent. Anyway, after passing the highest terrain and in the midst of a high-speed decent, I was suddenly being tossed around for a few seconds.

Could it be this simulation models the turbulence one would expect to find on the lee-side of a mountain range with high-speed winds aloft? No way! But there was something there...

ED, you rule.

Even if it wasn't really there (no, I wasn't drinking or otherwise impaired) the fidelity leaves you with a big grin on your melon. :D

OT: There was an SH4 mod for an ice cream maker, but in that case there was actually room for one.;)

I am sure down wind turbulence (rotor) is modelled, unless it was a coincidence, I hope so, thats a really nice feature to have.

Now if we can only get ATC up to snuff...as it stands ATC is something best ignored.

It's a large Elephant with ATC being the Hind-Quarter......There are more Juicy Bits to nibble on first.

Not if you plan on sumulating CV ops down the road.

Or when you inegrate the next DCS hardcore jet with A10C.

I'd say a functional ATC is vital.

In the year 2073, Eagle Dynamics released DCS: Universe. You're "playing" it right now, you just don't realize it. ;)

Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility.

Indeed. Hence the referral to the hind-quarter: You'd be amazed at what you get:

Steaks total divided amongst the Sirloin, Porterhouse, and T-Bone Steaks (or strips steaks and tenderloin)

Top Round that can be cut as Roasts, Steaks, and/or London Broil

Rolled Rump Roasts

Sirloin Tip Roasts

Cube Steaks

Shank Soup Bones

Stew Beef

Ground Beef.

I could have referred to the tail or even worse, the toes
