Weta43 Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 A very nice touch from ED. All those rivers actully flow downstream. I was flying a SU25t the other day & lost both engines to an Avenger. I put the plane down in a valley & slid along till I ended up in a river (mostly). The plane sank up to the bottom of the cockpit, then started being swept downstream, pivoting around the tail which was still on land. Eventually the current pushed the downstream wing into the bank, broke it off & the plane came to a halt ... A nice detail I think. Cheers.
Shaman Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Interesting. Haven't known that. It would be nicer though to see reflective water in rivers and streams :) 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer
enigma6584 Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Didn't know that one. That is cool. One finds quite a bit of gems in this little sim.
Trident Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Interesting. Haven't known that. It would be nicer though to see reflective water in rivers and streams :) I second that, it looks funny when you see a river and the sea side by side in LOMAC.
DayGlow Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 part of the problem is probably wave size. I've noticed in IL2 that perfect water looks out of place in the rivers unless you use the really high detail (2 or 3) water. Only problem is that the high water slows down fps. Kula66 Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 I find the full reflection sea too much ... sea just doesn't look like that from the air IMHO. Good job too - my little laptop would never manage it!
Weta43 Posted August 10, 2005 Author Posted August 10, 2005 Do you mean me Cali ? Yes - I'll fish them out. Cheers.

Weta43 Posted August 15, 2005 Author Posted August 15, 2005 Here's those screenshots for anyone who's still waiting. Slides in ... Thinking about getting out. See the weapons & wingtip are visible under the water ? The tail caught & started to spin. Then the wing breaks - and it comes to rest. Cheers.
