Yurgon Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2011/07/how-digital-detectives-deciphered-stuxnet-the-most-menacing-malware-in-history.ars Wow, that was the most fascinating article I've read about stuxnet so far. Thx for posting! For those who understand german there's an article from Frank Rieger: Der digitale Erstschlag ist erfolgt I believe it's the same Frank Rieger that was mentioned in the OP's article; he's also a spokesperson for the german Chaos Computer Club.
PeterP Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 (edited) Danke! - reading! Very good read indeed Der digitale Erstschlag ist erfolgt "the digital first strike has been done" is a article that more tends to cover questions how to handle this and how this will change our world... instead protocol how it was found posted from hassata. Indeed - a good read that leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.- but at no means surprising for me. Edit: I see how people care lazy about "digital" security at my own workplace everyday - and I'm just getting a little frighted when thinking that also people like me and you are working in atomic-plants/ect. and only on little leak will make it happen that someone far away will have the possibility to change instantly your live as you know it. Maybe a little pessimistic but...: And it is a pity of life that everything you may think of or do - someone else did, or will do( in the range of possibility's). -just scary and fascinating in the same time... leafer Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 They should make a movie. Now what exactly is a zero day virus in layman's term. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Avilator Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Now what exactly is a zero day virus in layman's term. It's a virus that exploits a weakness in a piece of software that the developers of said software didn't know about. They knew about it for "zero days" before it was leveraged in an attack. I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! Pull Up!" Who can say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow. -Robert Goddard "A hybrid. A car for enthusiasts of armpit hair and brown rice." -Jeremy Clarkson "I swear by my pretty floral bonet, I will end you." -Mal from Firefly
leafer Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Ahh... Thank you. See, Wiki made it too confusing for me. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
