If a member of the VKB team would be so nice and post updates in this thread and/or have a brief look here to answer some of the unanswered questions from time to time...
And finally tell us when it is available and if they ship it worldwide and to what conditions/price.

According to VKB guys, the production of the joystick will start this week. About logistics - question is still in work-out. Approximate price (very approximate - 5000-7000 Rub, 160-220USd, without delivery of course). AS soon as there will be more concrete information, I'll post it in this forum.

Anything else?

No - In Traditional Chinese!! -even if I prefer Mandarin - but I can live with it...

(Sorry if this sounds very sarcastic - but it is meant to sound this way! :D)

...But if they ever plan to sell this out side of the CIS they are good advised to make some post also in English to advertise their product and track postings in threads of others forums to provide the necessary info in a uncomplicated way to their potential customers.

Cobra M5 - made in China - will be sold around the world with another brands (Defender is for Russian market).

Sorry PeterP, didn't mean to piss you off! I've post a request to put updates about King-Cobra here. UIV (the guy from VKB) said it's possible. He is pretty busy though, so i don't know when it'll happen... So far - i'll try to keep you, guys, here up to date. (Can not wait to get this joystick!:joystick:)

I really appreciate your help.

I just wanted to underline that I don't find it ideal that someone has to jump between the languages and forums to do the work of others.

hope you get my point. ( and I thought I have done it in a funny way - so there is no misinterpreting...;))

It's not, but pretty close though. Besides the real stick is changing with modernization of su-27 (for example on su-35 stick has more buttons than on su-27). This stick is the result of virpil discussion on one of the russian thread on sukhoi forum.

Personally i would rather prefer f-16 replicka stick rather than the one they have now(imho). I've asked guys in russian forum if it's possible. They answered that so far they are busy with the King-Cobra so far but in future it might be possible to see a cougar (or warthog) style stick on KC. The issue is how many people are going to buy it.

Another alternative is a possibility to plug in handler from cougar (or warthog). According to vkb guys it's not a big deal.

So let's be patient. Not much time left...

Well, we already have (or had) F-16 replica, A-10 replica .... We have never had Russian aircraft replica throttles/sticks. I look forward to a day when somebody will make Su-27 or Black Shark stick.

I find this stick a refreshing offer on the market. The maker is to be commended.

If I was searching for a new HOTAS I would definatly consider it.

Don't get me wrong, this stick has got an attitude. I love a refreshing change of pace from all the other toyish looking sticks out there. When I saw it I thought, finally, something I can afford that doesn't look like a nintendo toy.

Guys people are saying the m5 is being sold but i cannot find an actual link to buy this product online.

I have been to this site here

Darn good question! I'm from Ukraine and i can't buy it here. It looks like the only place so far you can get it is Moscow.

I would suggest you to try to write to defender's support (http://www.eng.defender-global.com/support/hotline/). Probably they'll answer with more details about possibility to get joystick in US:(

I suggest to you await.

The same stick sold by Defender as Cobra M5 has been sold under another brands worldwide. Probable in the end of year you find in local Walmart.

To King Cobra upgrade kit need await until WKB define price and start regular production. For now a batch of 100 units is under production.

Ok, good news everyone!

Firstly, an exhibition is going to be in the Netherlands this weekend! There you can see (and try!) Defender Cobra M5 joystick, King-Cobra from VKB joystick, throttle (Gametrix ECS) and rubbers also from VKB! For more details visit http://www.fsweekend.com/.

Secondly. VKB announced that starting from next week one can leave a request for the K-C joystick. (Bad news is as far as i understood it'll be available only for ex-USSR residents). But the joystick itself is produced in China, so i guess it's not a big deal to manage an import to the US!

The stick in the bottom picture is from a real a/c? I wonder how much does it cost to get one and where.

I'm about to buy a cheap Logitech to use while I finish modifying my suncom, and I'd love to get the Defender instead the logitech.
