splitter Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Since the patch I am having difficulties with getting the ground power turned off, anyone else got this?
Mustang Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Yes i've noticed this too, and when you taxi he screams "hey what are you doing?!"
splitter Posted July 24, 2011 Author Posted July 24, 2011 The bug when switching from apu gen to AC gens cutting the power is gone though, so ground power is less useful for me.

musikerz Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 True, the communication with ground crew, not only the ground power subject, has been troubled since 1.1.0.9 update, maybe the full installation has no issue with that? Anybody know this please comment.
kam Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 My full install of 1.1.0.9 has no problem with the chief turning off ground power. Migo Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Labeled HM, the Hot Mic button allows you to communicate with the ground crew and tanker. However, for this function to work the Rotary Selection dial must first be set to INT (intercom) and the INT button must be selected. From the manual.
CADelta Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 You need to switch your Radio from VHF to INT to be able to communicate with the Ground Crew now (just like in real life). Hope this solves all your issues with the ground crew after patch 1.1.0.9 :) /Krycek = CAD = Krycek [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I try to save a life a day. Usually it's my own!

From the manual. that^^^ Apparently if you ask the Chief for rearming/refueling/ground power before you turn your engines on (and make him deaf) he will respond (without setting your intercom dial) System specifications: Computer, joystick, DCS world, Beer
Migo Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 he will respond (without setting your intercom dial) That's correct and seems to be a bug, right ?
SmokeyTheLung Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I don't think it's a bug. If your jet isn't noisy and your canopy is open, there's no reason the chief wouldn't be able to speak to you. well I guess there might be a few reasons :D But the word on the street is that it's a feature. I think it was the same in Black Shark System specifications: Computer, joystick, DCS world, Beer
RodBorza Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Also, I noticed that this time around you need to have the Intercom Panel rotary switch set to INT. And the INT and HM buttons must be pressed. Then, you can talk to the ground Chief. I extended the ladder and tried, tried, tried to talk to the crew chief, until I looked at the manual and there was the answer. This is an amazing sim! 'Nuff said!:pilotfly: YouTube: SloppyDog
Snoopy Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 FYI, the current operation in 0.9 is not the correct operation. Per the 1A-10C-1 if you have the INT and HM knobs pulled you don't need to have the Rotary Select Knob on INT. The Rotary Select knob controls what Mic Switch Fwd controls. On VHF it controls the mic switch keys the AM radio, with the knob on INT the only way to talk to ground crew (or the boomer on the 135) is to key the mic switch forward. Real world ops as soon as the pilot has the HM and INT knobs pulled and turns the battery on we can sit and talk on the intercoms all day (well until the battery dies). I've already submitted bug request on the testers side to hopefully get this corrected. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
Baggy MacDouche Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 I'm still pretty confused. I've always used easy radio/comms and never had to mess with the intercom before. It doesn't seem to take into account the easy settings from the options and you would think it would fall under that. So what is the correct procedure now(or at least if/when it is patched)? By default all the buttons are pulled out. I'm not sure about the position of the big dial. I can't seem to find any marking that shows which position it is in. By default, I think the INT is pointed in the straight up position and the dial is rotated fully clockwise. If that is the correct starting position, then what needs to happen to communicate with the ground crew? And after you are done with the ground crew, do you need to turn it back off, or select one of the other radios, etc.? tusler Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Wow, I have Easy Comms on I am trying to fly the simple Ramp Start. I put the big knob to INT. I press the INT button I bring up the comm list with "\" Even tried pressing the HM button. I press F8 to contact ground for fuel and nothing happens. I turn on battery pwr- press F8 nothing I start the APU Press F8 nothing How are we suppose to contact ground for fuel? WarriorX Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 (edited) All Intercom knobs are set by default to their ON setting. I do not use Easy Comms, so I can only speak for Realistic Comms. Follow Paulrkii's post above to contact ground crew. There should be a hash mark on the Intercom Panel plate at the 12'oclock of the Rotary Select Dial to indicate the dial's current setting (this omission has been reported) so, until the hash mark is put in there, use the 12'oclock position to aid you in knowing which setting you are in. Remember if you do switch to Intercom (INT) on the Rotary Select Dial to talk to the Ground Crew, dont forget to switch it back to VHF to resume normal radio comms. Page 154 in your Flight Manual covers the Intercom Panel and it's buttons. Edited July 25, 2011 by WarriorX [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Is that you John Wayne?.......Is this me?" tusler Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 (edited) No joy, I unchecked easy comms. I turn the knob to INT I leave the INT and HM buttons out. (I have also tried with them in) On the HOTAS I click mic to the right Menu comes up. I press F8 and nothing happens. I press the other keys using F11 to back out each time to make sure my keyboard is working. I checked the control listing to make sure F8 is not assigned to anything it should not be. I have no Idea what to do next.:noexpression: I uninstalled, deleted all the folders, reinstalled and setup the warthog hotas from scratch and still have the same problem.contact grnd.trk Edited July 25, 2011 by tusler Ask Jesus for Forgiveness before you takeoff :pilotfly:! It doesn't seem to take into account the easy settings from the options and you would think it would fall under that. I would agree. I use easy comms as well and although it was never explicity stated, I had assumed that was why I never needed the intercom either. I don't have to mess with it for JTAC communication but that is the only thing I have tried since the patch. WarriorX Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Here is the Youtube vid showing my interaction with the Ground Crew via the Intercom Panel. The volume came out very low, so please crank up the volume, sorry about that. Also, there is some fun cloud flickering due to my SLI settings, so if you want a seizure, just stare at them. musikerz Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 now I fully understand how to interact with ground crew, pretty realistic, the noise and the cockpit will render the communication to be hindered, so it's not a bug, no need to change it. S!
Snoopy Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 You can also contact ground crew by pressing \ (or / I always get it confussed when I'm not in the pit) That simulates HM and INT knobs being pulled so you don't have to change the intercom rotary knob to INT to talk to ground crew using the MIC FWD then switch it back to VHF for MIC FWD to talk on VHF/AM. Not a bug, operates IAW C-1. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
