Frostiken Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 To answer the question in a less useless fashion, you can press F-10 to view a map. Additionally, the divert page on the CDU lists the nearest airports by order of proximity. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
EtherealN Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 There's a list of frequencies for tower, tacan, ILS as well as runway data can be found in the manual. Page 659. Newt Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Might he also be able to use the CDU repeater and then click function > 2 on the UFC then choose the divert option on the right MFCD and aren't the listed airports listed based on distance from your plane with the top one being the closest? Edit: Whoops, I didn't notice Frostiken's post. My mistake. Live every week like it's Shark Week. :D
Newt Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 (edited) It gives you communication frequency as well doesnt it? Yes, it does. It will give tower freq. as well as the ILS and TACAN freq. if the airport has the devices. As well as put the chosen strip on the HUD as a steerpoint and thereby give you a distance on the HUD and HSI and direction which is useful in low visibility. It also lists the runway headings. It pretty much tells you all the same things that the F10 map does but from within the plane. Personally, I think this tool/ability isn't mentioned enough. It is very helpful and isn't "cheating" like some might think the F10 view is. Edited August 2, 2011 by Newt Live every week like it's Shark Week. :D
