Joyride Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 Yea Deephouse, I had a good laugh about the JTAC dying myself. The other two mission makers in our flight was chuckling too. We all knew exactly what happened :D I said something to the effect of, "I bet the guy spent a week trying to get the goddamned JTAC working then just said f*** it, I'll just blow his ass up". Awesome...glad someone got it! And as a side note, Happy Football Weekend to you sir...may your War Eagle be loud and often. Hoping my Buffs can find a way to get through Hawaii...we haven't won on the road since 2008 and HI is a tough place to play
Tez Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I flew it with friend yesterday. Indeed awesome. A mission to take a rest from deadly SAM assaults. Although some minor AAA is present, it doesn't bug much. I just set weather to dynamic to save FPS. Such overcast is too heavy for my PC. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] =653=Tez
Jive Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Excellent mission, thanks for putting it out there.

Joyride Posted September 16, 2011 Author Posted September 16, 2011 Hey Joyride, nice pic on the download link That Rabbit character sure is handsome... and brave... Downright heroic! Thanks, Jive & Tez.
LostOblivion Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Awesome mission. Me and my friend played it last night, and again today. We really enjoyed the intensity of it, which really works with the set payload. Also, authentic voice comms! Good work! More like this, please! Nice plane on that gun... CarneyUK Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Awesome mission, flew it with 2 of us last night, was hectic, but we managed to complete it in the end. By the time you finish you can't rememeber half the things you did it as was so full on! "The sky is not the limit.....it's my playground!!" @paraglidecass
jeffyd123 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 very well done joyride! I am working on something similar myself with voice acting. I am having trouble rearming back at the base I took off from... wondering what Im doing wrong... Ill look for ya over at the 1st and see if we can fly it together. Joyride Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 Thanks, Jeff. The voice over stuff is fun to do...I get easily carried away with it. ;-) No ideas about the re-arming problem, but will check into it. Would love to fly it with you anytime. Hoping to work on a more randomized version and fix some stuff with the second tasking soon.
kylania Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 We finished this mission last night for the first time. Really cool. Some of the things I really enjoyed about it were having to learn to use terrain while flying. You had to use the valleys to line up approaches and couldn't fly too high or else you'd hit the clouds. Also the reliance on visual PID and having to use your wingmen to pinpoint targets was really enjoyable. Towards the end one of the AA units had driven into the woods so the TGP was basically useless in trying to find it, so we had to keep alternating where one pilot would run in low to draw fire while his wingman kept watch to try to find where the tracers were coming from. A lot of really great teamwork. I also enjoyed how the waypoints were zones instead of just there already. This allowed us to finish waypoint 1, then return and refuel (and have some friends join us) without the mission completing on it's own or anything. Thanks again for a great mission and looking forward to more! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Christmas Cheer - A Landing Practice Mission : Beta Paint Schemes : HOTAS Keyboard Map : Bingo Fuel - A DCS A-10C Movie
jeffyd123 Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Hmmm , so you guys can rearm? Ive tried it 3 times now and the ONLY time I can rearm is when I first start the mission before I crank up the APU. I have tried starting up, and then shutting down the engines, with the CPU on and no rearm... Tried turning everything off and no rearm... weird. Ill look for you in TeamSpeak joyride... maybe we can replicate the issue. i7 8700K @ 4.4Ghz, 16G 3200 RAM, Nvidia 1080Ti, T16000 HOTAS, TIR5, 75" DLP Monitor
Fuzzysham Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 So I just played this mission for the first time the other day. I did not catch the name of the mission at first and I was worried I would not be able to find it later. SO glad I found this mission. Simply put, this is the best mission I have played yet. This is exactly the mission I have been looking for as this is how I imagine A-10's are used in combat lately, or at least close enough. The voicework, the scripting, the teamwork required is just top notch. Now I have to check out all your missions. Good job man. 1
Joyride Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 Thanks, fuzzy! The feedback is very appreciated - lots of time goes into these and it's very rewarding to know others enjoy it.
Aries Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 (edited) Does the mission work fine on 1.1.0.9? Three of us just run through it... The first part is really awesome CAS... We then escorted the convoy towards FOB Vetka, found & eliminated the mortar positions... And then nothing... We flew for like half an hour arround the friendly encampment and nothing happened, no one attacked... So we called it a day and flew back home to Kutaisi for a really interesting and a little hazardous foggy night landing... Once again, great mission!!! Thx deephouse!!! EDIT: Just reviewed the Tacview record, apparently there was this second part of the mortar group north up the river that we somehow missed... I guess this is the reason the mission didn't go onward... It would be nice if friendly units screamed for more help about this north unit if it doesn't get annihilated in some period of time... Damn, we missed them... So much wanted to defend those poor mud-suckerz from a full scale attack... ;) I guess we'll just fly it again real soon... Joyride Posted November 10, 2011 Author Posted November 10, 2011 Aries - the second part could definitely use some more work, a bit anticlimactic after the first part. I've been working on other missions, but I would like to get back and make the second part a little better.
Aries Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Last night the 4 of us finally got to annihilate all the mortar units and their evil minion friends in the second part of the mission... and then we anxiously awaited a distress call from FOB Vetka, expecting a full scale ride on the encampment (all sharp, rearmed & cocky)... but there was just this "Thank you for your support, you may depart..." message... :) So I guess that was it? The mission ends there... You definitely need to make a similar attack on the FOB as the one on mission start. One that would begin after cleaning the mortar groups... Every bullet would count then... A last stretch to differ the Elite from the average Joe pilot... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] ...the few, the proud, the remaining...
tyrspawn Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 (edited) Me and one of my buddies playing it yesterday: Edited November 14, 2011 by tyrspawn
Joyride Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 Awesome, thanks for sharing the video! Aries - will work on an update. Have learned a lot of things in the ME since Vetka, so will be able to improve and randomize a few things, including the second part of the mission.
Joyride Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 Uploading version 2.0. Made numerous minor tweaks to the first half of the mission, and almost completely overhauled the second half (FOB attack).
molleh Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 A friend and I who are still pretty new to DCS A10 tried this mission out tonight and I just wanted to say, you did an awesome job! Thank you for making it!
Toothcake Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Fantastic mission. A few buddies and I used this mission to test out TARS. Thanks for making it. mwd2 Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Good mission, we fly it with three A-10C yesterday. I like the situation/stress with all the comms/voice and all the tracer between blue and red ground force. Maybe let the text message a little longer on the screen (20sec. perhaps...). But i think there is a little to much action at WP1 (not much... a little bit :smilewink: ). I think, WP2 has a good balance between action, orbit over FOB and searching for the enemy. What we missing is a message on WP2 about a withdrawn of enemy unit - maybe we haven`t release the right trigger... Joyride Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 mwd2 - in the second part, there is a trigger based on % destroyed, so maybe you didn't hit enough units. Let me know if you still don't get the message on another go. Thanks - 1
CarneyUK Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Yet again another awesome mission! Played it with Cp tonight and it kept us very busy, as usual I took hit's but was super immersive (I got to learn that voice overlay for ME) Awesome Job! "The sky is not the limit.....it's my playground!!" @paraglidecass
