Ghostrida9
Welcome back to myself..haha, after a long time I decided to come back to Fly again..but I can't stand fc 2 nomore (sorry Folks but it just looks to old to me)..I think the best thing to improve is always the latest Version of a Game...so A-10C is my choice here..Nice Graphics, sounds and i'm pretty sure there's a lot we can improve..anway enough talk. I've downloaded Version 1.1.09 (4.4Gb), not patched, just the latest Version and installed A-10C..working fine so far, but when I click on Options/Graphics, I can only set Textures and Scenery to LOW or MEDIUM What happended to HIGH???:helpsmilie: using Windows XP 32Bit..maybe I should install those C++ 2008 files that come with A-10C..but I canceled to install it because it ask me to repair or uninstall, means i got it allready installed.. Any Ideas??.. Gracias Tel-Nof / Ovda Airbase Project If all real wars could only be fought in DCS.
Snoopy
AFAIK it's a restriction of 32 bit systems v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website | v303rd Fighter Group Twitter
WarriorX
Back with 1108, the memory needs of this sim outgrew the memory address limitations of a 32 bit operating system. That is why you are seeing the low setting restrictions. You will notice that the minimum system requirements now show a 64 bit OS. My advise is to move up to Win 7 64 bit, if you want the higher settings. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Is that you John Wayne?.......Is this me?" EtherealN
You can work around this, but you do so at your own risk: Get Notepad++ if you don't have it already, and use it to open \MissionEditor\data\scripts\optionsData.lua Make sure to get a backup of the file first, obviously. Line 265 has the graphics options. There you'll find instances of "onlyArch64 = true", change those to "onlyArch64 = false". Remember, this can cause your adress space to run out, which can cause crashes. Ghostrida9
Thanx Ethereal I did this and yes now I can choose "HIGH", but still the Graphic looks the same to me, also the Game don't recognize my Graphic Card settings "Catalyst Control Center", No Anti aliasing nothin, Contrast all that..even when I go out the game with "Windows" key, change all stuff again to 4x Anti aliasing all that and go back into the Game..it still look "not smooth" , Edges of Object etc.. seems like I need a new Graphic Card too..Argh Tel-Nof / Ovda Airbase Project If all real wars could only be fought in DCS. EtherealN
Well, to be honest, Catalyst Control Center is just horrible. I would recommend not using it to set any graphic options at all. Textures looking crap even after setting high is, for example, commonly a result of CCC doing weird things with the mip-map settings. I'd also recommend disabling Catalyst AI. You do have your CCC profile set to DCS.exe, correct? Ghostrida9
CCC profile set to DSC.exe??? uhm no, I did some manually settings.. but it seems like that my Graphic card is "not activated" or working when i enter the Game..the Graphic card is still not good but at least it should work inside the Game..seems like A-10C don't accept my settings, the Game don't switch the settings back to Standard but anyway..it seems like no matter what I'm doing, it looks crap..looks like CCC is deactivated.. My graphic card is also kinda old "ATI Radeon Hd 5450" cough cough... Tel-Nof / Ovda Airbase Project If all real wars could only be fought in DCS. Leave all settings at 'Application-Controlled', ie at default within the CCC. Use the SP GUI to set your preferences. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career?
