Really want to start multiplayer, but...

I've been playing for a couple weeks now and think I have a good understanding of the basics and can navigate, target and kill with good success. I really want to get started on some multiplayer with team speak, ventrilo, etc...

My question is: What is the best way to search for a server or search for people to fly with? I'm not looking to get on a server with people that don't know what team work is, or with people that don't have patience for an inexperienced pilot.

Help please.

Get to know a coupla online Squad forums - we usually have a Teamspeak viewer that shows who is on comms at that moment, with channels dedicated to specific flights/SIMS indicating who is where and doing what. Can then hop on and fire away - I have yet to encounter/hear of a situation where a new guy was not helped out: All you gotta do is ask :)

If teamwork is what you're after, definately look into the various squads/VFWs out there.

Some may offer a public server that you can fly on and get to know them, 74th VFS for example. And some like the 1st VFW don't provide public servers.

Best thing for you to do it have a look at the websites of a few groups to see which appeals and then make contact with them, be it via their forums or on their public servers.

Check the Wiki here, google the hell out of different groups, and just start playing casually on servers. Once you find a group that does the teaching/serious thing then sign on the dotted line.

You're welcome to join Sunday Flight School with me and a few other pilots. We're not a squad as such just a community of like minded gamers/fliers :)

You are from Herefordshire, UK?

Where is the server located? Or are you using your computer as a server?

I'm just wondering because of ping from the east coast of the USA.

I am quite interested though.

Thanks for the invite,

Jesse

Hey Fury,

Check out this post just a bit further down in this section of the forum. Looking for people to fly with?

We're not a squad per se. We're just virtual BS pilots who fly together and our doors are open to anyone that wants to join us. We're fairly new to the BS as well and have learned quite alot over the past month we've been flying.

We use TS to communicate.

Cheers,

Generally, pings below 400 are good for multiplayer.

East Coast to UK is about 100-150 afaik.

Try finish a couple campaigns and then when you find the AI repetitive its time for online play. Its the most natural evolution. The thing youll notice is that human players are much more unpredictable and fun to interact with if you dont fear to lose at first.
