DCS. Would you release a Beta to the public again?

Hi

 

I bought this sim as a Beta-1. First time I've paid for a Beta. And very happy I did it.

 

 

From my point of view. I HOPE you will release the next DCS project as a Beta also. (MULTY ROLE PLEASE!!)

 

If only other company's would do the same. My hat goes off to you guys.

 

My question is... Was it worth the hastle of all the negative comments. In some cases VERY negative?

I'm sure they'll release a beta for DCS: Waco CG-4A when it's ready. :)

A-10C Beta 1 was better than 50% of the final products out there, IMO...hopefully it was a success for them, it certainly was for me...

What a great journey it's been since last Oct. when The beta was released.I've been amazed and loved watching the sim grow with every new patch all the way to the Steam release.

 

Hopefully DCS was able to gain some insight as well from the great feedback from the community and Beta Team testers.I certainly can't/won't speak for DCS but I would guess it was a Win/Win for everyone.

i was dissapointed when they removed the Battlefield commander mode back in beta 3. It would have been so awsome to be able to direct ground troops and units from the air but I suppose these things where left in during development.

 

Talk about taking candy away from a baby. Still I found the beta alot of fun and made a small contribution to a couple of .dll issues that where promptly fixed.

The Beta program was a great idea and experience. Certainly there was some flaming going on but the enthusiast-end of the customer base ended up with a much better idea of what was coming out, and perhaps ED got some useful feedback on all the weird and wonderful hardware configs out in user-land.

 

I very much hope ED have enough aspirin stockpiled do it again next time.

Hopefully the next beta is compatible with dcs a10c, then we can start to see some interesting player vs player scenarios emerge.

Hmmmm.... the staff is quiet on this one. They most likely wanted to murder about 75% of us during the Betas. LOL

I can't say anything about the question that was posed, but one great value in such a beta program is to get as much hardware as possible thrown on the beta product. Within the tester team there is a bit too much "good stuff" being used hardware-side (try telling us to use "crap" or "old stuff" when we are so nerdy we will totally eat pasta for a month if it means we can buy a Warthog :P ), so an Open Beta allows for a wider hardware and software compatibility testing. (Though it's not always easy to actually use the information, depends on the quality of the reporting. :P)

I'm a terrible cook, so that's pretty much what I do anyway. :P Pasta, meatballs, a liberal sprinkling of cheese, and raw eggs. Totally awesome. :)

I've bought and downloaded the patches since the release of the first beta. In the beggining, I felt it was a hard sim. I can say it gave me a hard on.

From the first flight till now, each patch gave the same 'hardness'.

I don't really know how to tell my satisfaction. English is not my native language, please, excuse my eventual misspelling.

This is getting really OT, but we have good screening over here. I worry more about my mounting RSI and the prospect of lung cancer (and of course, heart disease from all the cholesterol :P ).
