arality Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 (edited) That's pretty slick, where did you get that VAC? I did a quick google search and pulled nothing for it. Edit: This one? http://www.dwvac.com/index.html Edited September 27, 2011 by arality
CDR Spectre Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 That's pretty slick, where did you get that VAC? I did a quick google search and pulled nothing for it. Edit: This one? http://www.dwvac.com/index.html That'd be the one to get IMHO. Free 30 day trial $18 to register. Well worth the money. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] It's not the fall that gets you. It's the Godawful sudden stop at the end.
RodBorza Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 (edited) Fish, Great work demonstrating it. It gives a gebneral idea what this kind of program can do in the DCS: A-10. And, if you allow me, I would like to suggest something that might help you out. You could change the "unguided bombs" command to something like "dumb bombs". I believe in this way the computer would not have a hard time distinguishing between the very similar voice commands. I worked with voice recognition software before (a long time ago) and they tend to be very sensitive in the manner how you say things when you record the initial template and how you say the commands after that. Edited September 27, 2011 by RodBorza To clarify somethings that were confuse in the initial post. This is an amazing sim! 'Nuff said!:pilotfly: YouTube: SloppyDog
jeffyd123 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 thanks for the great demo of VAC... Any chance of a guide for setting it up? thanks Jeff i7 8700K @ 4.4Ghz, 16G 3200 RAM, Nvidia 1080Ti, T16000 HOTAS, TIR5, 75" DLP Monitor
Fish Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 ...You could change the "unguided bombs"..... Got a bit of tweaking to do on this profile all right. Approach which works for me is several phrases for each command, and make it more 'naturally speaking' commands. Will post a profile as template when tweaked a bit more. 1 Fish's Flight Sim Videos [sIGPIC]I13700k, RTX4090, 64gb ram @ 3600, superUltraWide 5120x1440, 2560x1440, 1920x1080, Warthog, Tusba TQS, Reverb VR1000, Pico 4, Wifi6 router, 360/36 internet[/sIGPIC]

GregP Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Fish, that's an amazing video, nice job. Care to share your VAC and TrackIR profiles? You seem to have MUCH smoother and more versatile TrackIR panning than I'm able to get. Also, I'm curious about your default cockpit view: I'd love to be able to see that much of the cockpit when flying, but don't you find that you can't read the HUD because your eyepoint is too far back?
Outlaw24 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 You indicated that you had one of the hat switches mapped to activate VAC, would that be the vacant up position on the current communication hat switch or another? Fish Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 (edited) You indicated that you had one of the hat switches mapped to activate....... I use S3+S4 to give me 'num.'=VAC activate. I use S4 for Teamspeak. (so TS listens to my VAC commands, but that's no biggie). Fish Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 (edited) .....Care to share your VAC and TrackIR profiles?.... Gladly, but still tweaking the VAC. Will post both in a bit. but don't you find that you can't read the HUD because your eyepoint is too far back? Yes, but most time i don't use the HUD. Great believer in the Steam gauges. Then when the time comes, i roll my longitudinal veiw in, and i'm in the HUD. ryyy Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 (edited) I'm having issues with this getting to work in DCS... So I'm following the steps as shown in the video and when I try to say the command in game, nothing happens. Here is how mine is setup. This is just a simple test command that I've been trying to get to work. I hold down left control (my PTA) key and say "Radio" and nothing happens. Command for: Opening the man radio menu DCS Key Bind: L ALT + Numpad+ VAC Qualifier Key: L ALT VAC Extended Key 1: Numpad+ VAC Activation Phrase: "Radio" or "Contact" VAC PTA Key: L CTRL Taskbar: DCS Profile Loaded / VAC set to ON Edited October 1, 2011 by ryyy
kobac Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 You have to enter the second key in activation key 2. window, or change activation metod to e.g. "arm". [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Everything is possible ...
Fish Posted October 2, 2011 Author Posted October 2, 2011 I'm having issues with this getting to work in DCS.....I hold down left control (my PTA) key and say "Radio" and nothing happens. CTRL key is not a good one to bind as activation in default mode, cause widows sees this key press along with the vac command as long as you are holding it, so RCTRL & KP+ is what windows sees. Try use the 'ARM' mode, if using that key, so you only got to push and release it, then say your phrase. Test your command in the test mode, first. While the test mode will show the phrase being recognised, it will only confirm it as good command, if you have 'armed' the activation key.
