That's pretty slick, where did you get that VAC? I did a quick google search and pulled nothing for it.

Edit: This one? http://www.dwvac.com/index.html

That'd be the one to get IMHO. Free 30 day trial $18 to register. Well worth the money.

It's not the fall that gets you. It's the Godawful sudden stop at the end.

Fish,

Great work demonstrating it. It gives a gebneral idea what this kind of program can do in the DCS: A-10.

And, if you allow me, I would like to suggest something that might help you out. You could change the "unguided bombs" command to something like "dumb bombs". I believe in this way the computer would not have a hard time distinguishing between the very similar voice commands. I worked with voice recognition software before (a long time ago) and they tend to be very sensitive in the manner how you say things when you record the initial template and how you say the commands after that.

To clarify somethings that were confuse in the initial post.

This is an amazing sim! 'Nuff said!:pilotfly:

...You could change the "unguided bombs".....

Got a bit of tweaking to do on this profile all right. Approach which works for me is several phrases for each command, and make it more 'naturally speaking' commands. Will post a profile as template when tweaked a bit more.

Fish, that's an amazing video, nice job. Care to share your VAC and TrackIR profiles? You seem to have MUCH smoother and more versatile TrackIR panning than I'm able to get.

Also, I'm curious about your default cockpit view: I'd love to be able to see that much of the cockpit when flying, but don't you find that you can't read the HUD because your eyepoint is too far back?

You indicated that you had one of the hat switches mapped to activate VAC, would that be the vacant up position on the current communication hat switch or another?

I use S3+S4 to give me 'num.'=VAC activate. I use S4 for Teamspeak. (so TS listens to my VAC commands, but that's no biggie).

Gladly, but still tweaking the VAC. Will post both in a bit.

Yes, but most time i don't use the HUD. Great believer in the Steam gauges. Then when the time comes, i roll my longitudinal veiw in, and i'm in the HUD. Check this

Thanks for the feedback, I've been trying to get VAC to work with my TM, no joy so far. VAC worked great with my Saitek Pro with Black Shark, great product.

I'm having issues with this getting to work in DCS...

So I'm following the steps as shown in the video and when I try to say the command in game, nothing happens.

Here is how mine is setup. This is just a simple test command that I've been trying to get to work.

6200037632_ecce80f40a_b.jpg

I hold down left control (my PTA) key and say "Radio" and nothing happens.

Command for: Opening the man radio menu

DCS Key Bind: L ALT + Numpad+

VAC Qualifier Key: L ALT

VAC Extended Key 1: Numpad+

VAC Activation Phrase: "Radio" or "Contact"

VAC PTA Key: L CTRL

Taskbar: DCS Profile Loaded / VAC set to ON

You have to enter the second key in activation key 2. window, or change activation metod to e.g. "arm".

CTRL key is not a good one to bind as activation in default mode, cause widows sees this key press along with the vac command as long as you are holding it, so RCTRL & KP+ is what windows sees. Try use the 'ARM' mode, if using that key, so you only got to push and release it, then say your phrase. Test your command in the test mode, first. While the test mode will show the phrase being recognised, it will only confirm it as good command, if you have 'armed' the activation key.
