WildBillKelsoe Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
redfish Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Interesting video Noc Raises a quesion if the alternate fuel is ethanol based? If so then that fuel is miscibile with water/water vapour. Is that a good thing? Just thinking of the conditions where there would be water in a fuel tank - environmental conditions, high humidity AO's. hmmm [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] AEF 161 Squadron CO ~~~ My YouTube Channel ~~~ "We struck down evil with the mighty sword of teamwork and the hammer of not bickering." Snoopy Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 who cares about fuel mate? I care about that probe that surely would help in aerial refuelling dilemma we face.. No it wouldn't....the probe is another pitot tube for testing and is mounted in the refueling door so there is no air refueling... v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
mvsgas Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 LOL How about this one? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/5f/NASA_F-15B_836_with_Quiet_Spike.jpg I know is a pitot tube, still funny To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

sobek Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 who cares about fuel mate? I care about that probe that surely would help in aerial refuelling dilemma we face.. I don't think that p&d refueling is so much easier IRL. The basket is very small, additionally you have to be very careful to match your speed when conecting or you will rip the basket off. Last but not least, the boom can tranfer fuel more quickly, so you don't have to stay connected as long as in p&d refueling. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Viper101 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 I know is a pitot tube, still funny Actually it's a non-functioning attachment called the "Quiet Spike". It was made for testing in the suppression of sonic booms. http://www.dfrc.nasa.gov/Gallery/Photo/Quiet_Spike/Large/ED06-0111-08.jpg That's to push a slow jet out of your way.
