Pilotasso Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 could somebody explain whats with all this...how can someone atribute smoke on objects like that? .
SuperKungFu Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 cool i been waiting for someone to add smoke exhaust. But is it possible to make it appear at random, or during heavy turns. Because i know the MiG smokes a lot, but those pictures made it look damaged lol. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Lemon Lime Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 Because i know the MiG smokes a lot, but those pictures made it look damaged lol.It is beta version. :) Коричневые очки никогда не поранят мозг. Trident Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 Just to get this straightened out for me - is this v1.2, Tank Killers or what? Now for the screenies: excellent! Infact, the MiG can really smoke that badly, but this only happens with certain throttle settings, as others have mentioned. Sometimes it doesn't smoke at all and the pictures seem to reflect that, actually. The third one in the first post looks pretty convincing already :) This is probably redundant because it's rather obvious, but here's my list of aircraft in LOMAC that could use engine smoke: Su-24 B-52 F-4E Su-22 MiG-23/27 Il-76/78 and A-50 E-3A MiG-25 Tornado (this one is tricky: it doesn't usually smoke at all, but there appears to be one specific power setting where it smokes *heavily*) Then there are a few possible smokers, I haven't seen enough photos to be sure but they seem like they may smoke: E-2C C-130H Su-25 An-26/30 Tu-95/142 MiG-31 (the D30F is based on the D30s of the Il-76 family, as the name implies)
SuperKungFu Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 The smoke trail on the 3rd picture is slightly too long. (At least it will be easy to spot it during the heat of battle lol) Anyway...I know its a beta version so could you make it around this size And if possible, make it curl up during a turn or slow speed. like this. SuperKungFu Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 Su-24 B-52 F-4E Su-22 MiG-23/27 Il-76/78 and A-50 E-3A MiG-25 Not to mention the tomcat, that's one heavy smoker. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
HAG Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 And if possible, make it curl up during a turn or slow speed. like this. Unfortunately, in terms of ressources cost, that will be probably VERY expensive...
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 could somebody explain whats with all this...how can someone atribute smoke on objects like that? to me that looks like there dumping fuel, i cudnt say for sure tho.....
Alfa Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Hehe....I think it is a hoax. I also think I know how it was done :) . Does it involve smoke canisters and editing of pylon position in the MEinit Dronas? ;) - JJ. JJ
Pilotasso Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 It has been asked before but not answered... Please, what project is this, 1.11, 1.2 or what? What changes were donne to the game so that the mig has smoke now? .
ALDEGA Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 It's an edited Meinit.xml with changed pylon position and custom color smoke rockets, as Alfa said. I thought this would be pretty obvious.
britgliderpilot Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Honestly, I think the smoke in general needs a fair bit more work before they implement smoke trails. At the moment they're too simple - just looks wrong. Much as I hate to say it . . . . I think F4 had better smoke trails. Handled the particles better and from what I remember was variable by throttle setting - nothing like looking over your shoulder and seeing the smoke trail behind that MiG get darker or lighter depending on what he's doing. I think it'd be possible to get smoke trails on the MiG in v1.1, actually - edit the smoke generator colour, then edit the pylon position. Don't know if you can add new pylons just using the MeInit, but if you could then you could get smoke from the engines and keep your payload. (edit, whoops, someone already said that. Oh well . . . . ) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
Prophet_169th Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I have been flying a bit of F4. And MiG29's are always making themselves available as targets. You can definately see a smoke trail when they get close, and then a much larger smoke trail when they get even closer =)
Dronas Posted August 28, 2005 Author Posted August 28, 2005 Yes, yes, yes this is MEInit modified results, also you can add new pilons to any aircraft ;) I also edit "ContainerTable.sht" for hide R-73U ;) Sample: // Smoke Generator (orange) shape { name = "Дымогенератор Р-73У (оранжевый)"; // file = "R-73U"; life = 0; // load = { false, false}; fire = { 0, 0}; index = 86; } DimAss Coljo Yappo
Pilotasso Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 1 thing that I always wanted was to add faint smoke to the AMRAAM...is it possible? .
Dronas Posted August 28, 2005 Author Posted August 28, 2005 Don't know you must try it ;) Sorry for English. DimAss Coljo Yappo
