I have not been able to get ground crew to rearm or anything in Black Shark 2. I have tried with cockpit door open, and SPU-9 radio set to ground crew intercom, vhf radio on. I used to do this fine in BS1 without turning anything on. What do I need to do now?

Is the Farp/Airfield populated with resupply vehicles? Open mission ATO-A.03.1.miz in the campaign folder and try it again.

Nate

Will try this now.

It´s supossed that airfields are, by default, able to do all resuply-power-refuel duties without any vehicles at all present. In BS1 works perfect.

It´s different in BS2?. Now we need to put vehicles for resuply functions even on airfields?.

OK, it worked there. Tried it with engines off and door open and it worked. Also with door closed and radio on, worked too. Thanks

This is the first time it worked since installing BS2. So when I create like a little practice mission I have to put supply resupply vehicles? how do I do this in the mission editor,

Emmm... Copy the way the Farp was Setup in that mission. Sorry, I can't remember which vehicles are required, so place one of each from that mission.

You shouldn't need farp resupply vehicles at airfields.

I've noticed that simply placing yourself at mission start at an airfield isn't enough to "capture" it, you need a ground unit from your coalition near the airfield to hold it at mission start, which you didn't need in A-10 1.1.0.9 or BS1.

For example: here's a screenshot from DCS:BS 2, I'm spawned at Senaki on parking space 5 with no other friendly or enemy forces around. The airfield is neutral and not in my control, thus I can't rearm.

Here's a screenshot from DCS:A-10C 1.1.0.9, Same airfield, same parking spot still no friendly or enemy units around, but this time the airfield belongs to my coalition

OK it works when I put a fuel truck and a couple other units at Gudauta. Thanks everyone for all the help with this. Is this mentioned anywhere in the new manual? I was mainly focused on the radio settings.:book:

I can't comment on which units need to be present to be able to refuel and rearm. This question could probably be answered in a lot of detail over in the "Missions and Campaigns" forum.

Concerning the radio stuff, though: communication with the ground crew only requires the intercom (batteries on, Intercom switch on, SPU-9 set to "Intercom").

I think that IRL the crew chief will plug his headset into one of multiple jacks located around the aircraft so that no radio communications (in terms of EM transmissions) take place.

VHF-1 and VHF-2 are not required for comms with ground crew.

Of course, keeping the door open will also work (although in the universe of Black Shark, with SPU-9 set to VHF-2, the guy working ATC is probably gonna do a facepalm upon receiving the order to refuel :-) )

I believe that if you have ground crew available and the aircraft is silent & pit hatch is open you should be able to just talk to the ground crew. They can hear you as long as the APU & engines are off etc. I think that's how it works with A-10C...

When you change your radio frequency to the ATC of the airdrome, does this mean that you no longer have contact with your wing-man?

Posted
Yes, you must switch back to communicate with your wingman.

Nate

OK, so the standard frequency to talk to wingman is what it is set to when you enter the mission?

It there and easy way to jump back without scrolling the dials?

Posted
Easy comms in the options should switch freq to who ever you want to communicate with. So tell your wingman to rejoin for example and your freq will be set back to wingmen.

Nate

Thanks Nate.

So now in BS2 you need at least one vehicle to take control of the airdrome and get suply functions?
