Conure Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Hey all, Sorry, I've been assaulting the forums as of late. I've spent too long wth the NGX 737 and forgotten everything here! Anyway, with BS2 when I start, I am zoomed out really far meaning I cant properly see my instruments and the world has a panned out fish eye sort of view! Does anybody know a fix for this? Nate--IRL-- Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Hit enter on the Numpad when you get to cockpit, might fix it. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
PeterP Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 (edited) Hi Cnoure, If Nate's tip didn't help: Go to >DCS BS2 root folder\Config\View and edit SnapViewsDefault.lua at line #1059 for a diffrent starting zoom. Snap[11][13]["viewAngle"] = 75.0 -- change this to your own liking starting view point in degrees and if this doesn't help - you can also edit : View.lua in the same folder . Edit line #119 "{view angle min, view angle max}" - min/max zoom. CameraViewAngleLimits[KA_50] = {20.0, 120.0}in the line above your cockpit-view will never zoom smaller than 20° and will be never be bigger than 120° if you zoom fully out. You can change the numbers to your own liking. And to play save: Never edit without a backup and use Notepad++ for the job. Edited November 8, 2011 by PeterP

Conure Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 Cheers guys :) will give all of these a go once my PC has finished stress testing!:) Intel i7 6700k, Asus GTX1070, 16gb DDR4 @ 3200mhz, CH Fighterstick, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Rudder Pedals, Samsung Evo 850 SSD @ 500GB * 2, TrackIR 5 and 27" monitor running at 2560 * 1440, Windows 10.
EbonySeraphim Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Ensure you have not inadvertently mapped you zoom view to a slider axis. Interesting you should say that. I haven't inadvertently done this, but I intentionally mapped the slider on my TM Warthog to view zoom. I have noticed -- and I think this has always happened with DCS:A-10 as well -- that as soon as a mission is done loading, if I touch nothing the view zooms out slowly to the widest angle even though the slider on my throttle is right in the middle. As soon as I move the slider, the sim catches on to the absolute position of it and adjusts accordingly. It's just odd behavior, that's all. Spetz Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Mine has always done that and I have slider mapped to airbrakes in A10 and nothing in BS 1/2. I just hit enter and it zooms to normal.
fangav Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 I have the zoom mapped to a wheel on my hotas, but I'm sitting to far back when I'm zoomed out, Can I change the starting zoom position forward in the cockpit?. its the same in the A10C as well? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
PeterP Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 (edited) it's the same as A10 Fangav - can you read post #3 ? everything you need is explained there: min/max/starting -zoom Edited November 8, 2011 by PeterP
