AKA_Clutter Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 All, I am thinking about getting an SSD and am looking at either SATRA 2 or SATA 3 drives. From what I have read I think I can expect faster load times of the OS and game load times, but not much impact once you are inside the DCS games. I would like to hear from some of you that have SSDs and see what you think of them, did you see and change in game play either single player, or on-line. Thanks in advance, Clutter :pilotfly: 1 ---------------- AKA_Clutter Win 10 Pro, Intel i7 12700k @4.6 GHz, EVGA RTX 3080 FTW, Ultra 64 GB G.Skill DDR4 3600 RAM, Acer 27" flat screen, HP Reverb G2, TM Warthog HOTAS with Virpil warBRD base, MFG Rudder Pedals, Virpil TCS Rotor Base with AH-64Dcollective, TrackIR 5 Pro w/Vector Expansion, PointCTRL.

cichlidfan Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 I have my OS and DCS A-10 on my SSD and even if it did not help with DCS it is still nice to have a complete reboot in a little more than 30 seconds. Clutter :pilotfly: You nailed it. You will have better loading times, depends on what SSD you get and if you tweak it properly through OS. You won't have any stuttering in DCS but frame rates will not increase at all. To increase fps you need a better GPU. Pilotasso Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Right now best all round SSD's are the Samsung 830 and crucial M4. Intel 510 might be a good alternative and the intel 320 is good for cheap high capacity SSD's. .
