Deadman Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 (edited) The AQU 3A normally has just white light. You would want to look for several of the compass types that have green nvis or you could just change the light bulb. Dropship Pilot Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 If the seller would ship to Germany, I'd buy a pair of these Koch fittings on the spot: http://www.ebay.com/itm/H-koch-and-sons-adapter-assy-lot-2-military-parachute-link-connector-avaition-/150800375804?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_100&hash=item231c671ffc&vxp=mtr Cheers, DSP
Deadman Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 (edited) Why? they are not used on the ACES II at this time AFAIK yoiu might want to look for a used pair of these instead http://www.capewell.com/frost-release Edited June 19, 2013 by Deadman https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Dropship Pilot Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Are you sure? This picture (among others) shows an A-10C Pilot with just the female counterparts for the male Koch fittings in the ebay auction. The picture was taken on March 1st 2011 - so it might not represent 2013 but the fittings are definitely correct for the A10C time period. Actually, I couldn't find any picture of an A-10 pilot with the Frost fittings shown in your picture (however, I don't say they might not exist). Cheers, DSP
Deadman Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 There are several different types of fittings for the parachute risers with mail fitting on the rise and on the PCU-15/P Torso Harness i used the frost fitting do to it is the most current as far as i know and it had the clearest picture of the mail fitting SEA WATER ACTIVATED RELEASE SYSTEM (SEAWARS)http://www.conaxfl.com/products/water-activated-releases/sea-water-activated-release-system.aspx UNIVERSAL WATER ACTIVATED RELEASE SYSTEM (UWARS) http://www.conaxfl.com/products/water-activated-releases/universal-water-activated-release-system.aspx And the Frost fitting http://www.capewell.com/frost-release Here is a picture of an A-10 pilot April 16 2010 http://www.dm.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/photos/100416-F-9662S-001.JPG If you look closely at the gap in the fitting you can see the flat section of the male fitting and not a post as shown in your example. That more closely resembles a fitting on an MA-2 Torso Harness http://www.flighthelmet.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=FHL&Product_Code=PRTH-MA2&Category_Code= please see the picture in the second row right side. As far as being 100 percent no I am not. Perhaps Paul may have time to shed some light on the subject https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Dropship Pilot Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 (edited) I think you made a good argument here (and some very usefull links ), but the construction of the female part of the first generation Kochh fitting is misleading. Have a look at the following picture (I tried to match the angle to the pilot picture you posted): The male part is not connected, but the flat section is still there. Here another view of the same part showing the holes for the two posts on the male fitting: So from what I know right now, I'd say that you see in this picture the parachute risers connected to the UWARS which in turn connects to the first generation Koch fitting (as in my ebay link) and finally to the first generation female Koch fitting on the PCU-15. Cheers, DSP Edited June 20, 2013 by Dropship Pilot Spelling corrected
Deadman Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 (edited) Check the NSN and part number and you will find that it is an out of date part that refers to an army part not AF. Do and purchase what ever you want I really don't have time to waist on trying to help you ,and just get an argument. I am sure you will be much more satisfied with your own research and assumptions Edited June 21, 2013 by Deadman https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
