JEFX Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Wow Loz, that looks great! Can you say what is the best size of touchscreen in order to get the best out of this? I am very interested in setting one up! Also, I heard that some touchscreens work better than others (brands, models?) with Windows 7/64, do you have any suggestions or precisions on this? thanks JEFX (Hi! Ratcatcher, this can be a great addition to the TripleHead, no?):) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] In DCS I fly jets with thousands of pounds of thrust... Loz Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 Thanks Jefx As you can see in my sig, I use an HP 2310ti. It's 23 inch 1920 x1080 monitor which I've had for almost a year now and I've been very happy with it. Win 7 calibration is spot on, it has a VESA mount which for most is essential especially in the 4 screen T config. (and importantly doesn't have too wide a screen bezel especially at the bottom, whereas a lot of others do have.) But I'm not an expert on these. I'm sure others will have differing opinions. :) i9 9900x at 5.1 Ghz // ASUS ROG Maximus XI Formula EK Bloc // 64Gb Corsair Vengence 3600Mhz DDR4 Ram // Gigabyte Aorus 3090 Watercooled block//Samsung SM951 M2 x4 SSD // Windows 10 64 Bit //48inch LG48 @ 3840x2160 120Hz//Asus ROG Swift PG35VQ 3440 x 14440 144Hz // TM Warthog HOTAS (Ser. JEFX Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Thanks Loz. My other question is : wth the system that I have now in my SIG, (and I can run the SIM at pretty much everything maxed out in 3840x1280 and have a decent frame rates in the twenties in cockpit at airbases) do you think that if I use the other slot of my graphics card for another 1920x1080 of screen estate, it will slow down the performance of the SIM a lot? thanks JEFX [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] In DCS I fly jets with thousands of pounds of thrust... jeffyd123 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 thanks for the screens Loz (Gadroc?)... That is really some beautiful pit work... It rivals the ED pit. Gonna try it out again and see if my system can run it (dont think it will) i7 8700K @ 4.4Ghz, 16G 3200 RAM, Nvidia 1080Ti, T16000 HOTAS, TIR5, 75" DLP Monitor

As I understand it you cannot run a four monitor setup with Nvidia SLI! You would have to install another seperate GPU to run the fourth monitor, if you have the Mobo to support it and then you will find it runs pretty slow. That was my experience when I ran a Crossfire card (HD 5970) and another card for the fourth monitor. Someone else may have more knowledge of this, but for multi-multi monitors AMD is a better (easier) solution. agrasyuk Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Loz, thanks a lot, great work. although to fit it on 1280*1024 i ripped bunch of stuff out, leaving only the engine and flight instruments. Anton. My pit build thread . Simple and cheap UFC project
Sappo Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Looks great! Let me give you a scenario and see if you can help. Is it at all possible to use my Blackberry Playbook with this? I am thinking (when I get it this weekend) ... to use the citrix client , to remotely control my laptop, which will be running Helios. Have you any thoughts on performance and or screen lag with this choice? I know I have seen videos of the Playbook running a citrix client to a desktop, with absolute smooth video playback... but not sure how it will handle the Helios and touch-screen app.
Loz Posted December 15, 2011 Author Posted December 15, 2011 Sorry I have no experience with running Helios with anything other than a standard touchscreen monitor. I suggest you go to scsimulations.com forum and ask there. i9 9900x at 5.1 Ghz // ASUS ROG Maximus XI Formula EK Bloc // 64Gb Corsair Vengence 3600Mhz DDR4 Ram // Gigabyte Aorus 3090 Watercooled block//Samsung SM951 M2 x4 SSD // Windows 10 64 Bit //48inch LG48 @ 3840x2160 120Hz//Asus ROG Swift PG35VQ 3440 x 14440 144Hz // TM Warthog HOTAS (Ser. FreeFall Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 I'll get back to you Warrior when I've d/l and installed 1.1.1.1 :) I've installed v.1.1.1.1 For me the ILS Power Ring works with v1.1.1.1. just the same way as it worked with v1.1.1.0 (That is: Pointer does show the opposite position compared with 3D cockpit pointer. PWR = OFF and OFF = PWR. ) And I can switch off the ILS. And also switch it on. Helios 1.2.172.434
