Fish Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Might be a post for Natural point, but does anyone else have the problem of TIR using The Black Shark profile for DCS A10 ? (And yes, my software is up to date, as are the game profiles). I can get over it using the exclusive setting, but that's another thing to do when setting up. Please, no suggestions of DCS re-install. Its a brand new one, 7 days ago Cheers. 1 Fish's Flight Sim Videos [sIGPIC]I13700k, RTX4090, 64gb ram @ 3600, superUltraWide 5120x1440, 2560x1440, 1920x1080, Warthog, Tusba TQS, Reverb VR1000, Pico 4, Wifi6 router, 360/36 internet[/sIGPIC]
MTFDarkEagle Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Because A-10C and Ka-50 share the same executable name. I.e. they are both called simulator.exe . I would love to see that changed. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread

I'd love to see them integrated into one piece of software. I know, i'll need another SSD for that lot. Fleshpiston Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 (edited) @Fish - What version of TrackIR software are you using? Do you have both Black shark and warthog installed? Have you created, or do you use your own profiles? Much love Flesh EDIT: Are you using ver:Version 5.1.3 - Final #48768 - 09/09/11 10:17 AM Re: DCS A-10C TITLE [Re: dbeaty2] NaturalPoint - Mike The problem is that TrackIR does not look at the name of the program. We provide software manufacturers with code to implement TrackIR functionality in their games, and part of that code is a unique ID number that tells TrackIR what game it is. The problem here is that they used the Black Shark number for both Black Shark and Warthog instead of using a different number for Warthog. Essentially, both programs are starting up, looking for TrackIR, and saying "Hello, I'm Black Shark". The only way this can be corrected is if the manufacturer of Warthog fixes the error and includes the fix in a patch. They have been notified of the error. _________________________ Edited February 27, 2012 by Fleshpiston 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] AEF Flesh | 161 SQN System: 965BE / 5850 Toxic / TrackIR 5 Pro / 120gb Corsair Force 3 GT / 2TB Raid10 / 6GB RAM /TM HOTAS Warthog / G13 / Combat Rudder Pedals..... and lots more

Fleshpiston Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 @MemphisBelle - No offence intended but I think if this could have been "worked" into a patch it would have been by now and I also believe the guys at natural point and DCS do converse. Patience is a virtue. Much Love Flesh EDIT: I will put in a bug report and see what happens but I do not expect anything to come back anytime soon ;) (Don't hold your breath) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] AEF Flesh | 161 SQN System: 965BE / 5850 Toxic / TrackIR 5 Pro / 120gb Corsair Force 3 GT / 2TB Raid10 / 6GB RAM /TM HOTAS Warthog / G13 / Combat Rudder Pedals..... and lots more

This was not supposed to be an offence against you or ED or what ever, I just reacted on these lines: The problem here is that they used the Black Shark number for both Black Shark and Warthog instead of using a different number for Warthog. The only way this can be corrected is if the manufacturer of Warthog fixes the error and includes the fix in a patch. They have been notified of the error. At the end both products work well with TrackIR 4 pro and TrackIR5 Software. I honestly dont recognize any differences or issues though... BlackSharkDen | BSD Discord | DCS Tutorial Collection
cichlidfan Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 So the TIR implimentation for DCS A-10 was copied from BS1.:music_whistling: ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Edit: I noticed it a long time ago but as it didn't cause me any issues it got bundled at the back of my noggin with all the other bits of not life changing info. As it is now I actually made my own profile linked to the .exe as they are different iirc. Not a game breaker but would be nice to see that changed eventually. Rusty_M Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 That's all really quite surprising, as I find that the A10 allows me to put my head at much more extreme angles than the shark. Whoda thunk it? I never noticed that.... I will have a look at that. Good find Rusty! Edit: I am not at home at the moment but can someone confirm the two .exe are different? I think one was DCS.exe and one was simulator.exe but the law of bobbins could apply. Rusty_M Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 hey, it could just be my imagination. I'm not very experienced with this stuff.
