Why does TIR use Black Shark profile for A10 ?

Might be a post for Natural point, but does anyone else have the problem of TIR using The Black Shark profile for DCS A10 ? (And yes, my software is up to date, as are the game profiles). I can get over it using the exclusive setting, but that's another thing to do when setting up. Please, no suggestions of DCS re-install. Its a brand new one, 7 days ago

Because A-10C and Ka-50 share the same executable name. I.e. they are both called simulator.exe . I would love to see that changed.

I'd love to see them integrated into one piece of software. There are so many duplicated files between the modules.

Wait until you have FC3, P-51 and DCS-fast jet (five sets of duplicate files) and TIR has no idea what aircraft you are in.

Luckily i use the same TIR profile for all my flight sims :)

Same here. Default with all commands disabled except centre, which I change to shift+F12

@Fish - What version of TrackIR software are you using?

 

Do you have both Black shark and warthog installed?

Have you created, or do you use your own profiles?

We provide software manufacturers with code to implement TrackIR functionality in their games, and part of that code is a unique ID number that tells TrackIR what game it is. The problem here is that they used the Black Shark number for both Black Shark and Warthog instead of using a different number for Warthog.

 

Essentially, both programs are starting up, looking for TrackIR, and saying "Hello, I'm Black Shark". The only way this can be corrected is if the manufacturer of Warthog fixes the error and includes the fix in a patch. They have been notified of the error.

@MemphisBelle - No offence intended but I think if this could have been "worked" into a patch it would have been by now and I also believe the guys at natural point and DCS do converse.

Sorry, if my last post was misunderstanding. This was not supposed to be an offence against you or ED or what ever, I just reacted on these lines:

At the end both products work well with TrackIR 4 pro and TrackIR5 Software. I honestly dont recognize any differences or issues though...

I don't know the full story so I won't say that is the case but it does appear that way.

 

 

Edit: I noticed it a long time ago but as it didn't cause me any issues it got bundled at the back of my noggin with all the other bits of not life changing info. As it is now I actually made my own profile linked to the .exe as they are different iirc. Not a game breaker but would be nice to see that changed eventually.

That's all really quite surprising, as I find that the A10 allows me to put my head at much more extreme angles than the shark.

I never noticed that.... I will have a look at that. Good find Rusty!

 

Edit: I am not at home at the moment but can someone confirm the two .exe are different? I think one was DCS.exe and one was simulator.exe but the law of bobbins could apply.

hey, it could just be my imagination. I'm not very experienced with this stuff. I just feel seeing stuff like the radios and things behind the stick are easier in A10 than BS/BS2
