Lallan Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Game booster http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html My computer is making almost robotic sounds (any suggestions) and is also struggling with fsx, RAM and GPU upgrade in May and also OC soon as well, in the meantime I was considering giving this piece of software a shot. soupyc Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Computer already struggling with resources, the solution is not to add something that consumes more resources. I'd wait out the upgrade personally. HiJack Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 The applicartion is easy to use and stops a lot of unnessesary services when you game but did not do much regards FPS on my rig. Easy to test and uninstall if you are not satisfied. (HJ)
636_Castle Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 I never game without it. :) Takes a bit of configuring to get the most out of it, but it drops me down to about 30 processes and 9% memory usage, from 35/12%. Closes things like Windows themes, printer spooler...etc. Make sure you go through the configuration of it though and customize it to your needs. Also I'd recommend using the "boost" mode, and not the default game box mode. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] How To Fix Your X-52's Rudder!
Spetz Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 I use it for BF3, gives me a 40% process decrease. I have noticed that I do not suffer from the Micro stutter anymore when I use this and the gametime.maxvariableFPS 59.95 command prompt option. I use the boost mode as well, I don't like things automatically running when I click on the wrong icon by accident..
soupyc Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Well considering my other issues, and a complete lack of resolution, maybe I will give this a go, and stick my foot in my mouth. :D I'll report back my findings. Nice to have it with a simple "button press". - but please don't ever believe this notifications about your booooost in percentage..... Edited March 8, 2012 by PeterP
636_Castle Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 And what is your memory usage when gaming? That entirely depends on the game that's being ran. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] How To Fix Your X-52's Rudder!

Is it good? Is it bad? Well, I use it when playing Cliffs of Dover, I would not say it gives me 40% of more performance lol, but it helps with little stutters.
