Title says it all. I practically live here so you know I'm a no nonsense, hard-core flight physics first to the bone. :D

I just got a virtual credit card from my bank and I feel the need to dogfight.

If you want a challenge then ROF in my book. I don't do MP but the aircraft are more interesting to fly making dogfighting more difficult.

interesting ==> easier to break:D

Agreed with cichlidfan. Their pseudo-DC is also acceptable for longevity if SP is your main occupation. CloD isn't too terrible now that the worst problems have been fixed, but the campaign(s) give a bit too clunky a feel for me. The ROF campaign system really is quite clunky as well of course, but they don't make attempts to make it something it isn't.

RoF is the better game by miles. Dynamic career mode (not campaign), runs better and is free complete with a few planes.

CoD still has problems, a woefully shameful excuse of a campaign and won't run smoothly on anything but a beast of a machine. 1C are in the process of overhauling the code for it but don't hold your breath. They expect us to pay more money for a sequel they're working on.

But in the long run it depends on what style of plane you prefer. Myself, I prefer WW2 era over WW1 and despite what I just said I still fire up CoD now and again, play until the flaws frustrate me too much.

Haven't fired up RoF in a long time only because I personally hate flying WW1 aircraft.

I agree about ROF. The FM and DM both seem really good, and looking down iron sights to shoot makes combat a bit of a challenge. The aircraft are fragile and anemic compared to WWII fighters. The sound and graphics are both excellent.

COD will hopefully improve greatly with the new patch, when it is released. I may change my opinion at that time.

EDIT: Plus, you can try ROF for free!

In ROF you can fly this for a non-dogfight adventure.

I hate WWI planes as well but I think I'll get RoF, but where is the demo?

EDIT: found the demo.

I didn't "like" WWI planes before I got RoF either. It's great fun!

I honestly passed it up several times myself. The lack of modern goodies and power turned me off. I finally had one of those 'gotta buy a game' moments and am really glad I ened up with it.

Dogfight for me sounds like MP, anyway, in this case CoD. The next patch (beta) is soon around, and as many other RoF guys, who switched over to CoD, you will enjoy it too......On the weekends and some days under the week, up to 80 people on the ATAG server, plus TS, it gets interresting.

Don't forget to get the new manual. It might be in the demo download but I doubt it, at least not until the next patch.

There is a lot of stuff, controls GUI among others, that has changed since the original manual.

They are making it a pain to download the demo. I have been trying since yesterday morning and the HTTP download kept getting interrupted. I left the computer on all night thinking I'd get to play it in the morning but no.. The torrent only has one seeder at any given time of day. My goodness gracious, man, this is extremely frustrated.

I have had the same problems man. I've been downloading the torrent all week. 500mb to go. I'll leave it seed for the next 3 days. The http always dies around 2.5gb.
