Hi everybody!

I installed the beta today, and I must say i got a bit confused when it came to setting up controls

I had hoped that it would be easy to map keys and axes for the different functions. In my world you just highlight the function you want to map, then press a key or move an axis to assign it to that function. But in this case it does not seem to work that way. For example the throttle is by default set to one of the two hat buttons on the stick and the fire function is set to one of the buttons on the throttle. Does anybody have a solution how to fix this, I mean so that if I want to map the throttle function to my throttle, I just highlight throttle under control settings, then move the throttle and then the game detects what axes I move and I just have to confirm and save.

I hope that somebody can help me out here, cause right now it's more or less impossible to learn to fly whitout being able to configure the stick, throttle and pedal.

In the drop down menu go in the > Axis Commands and delete EVERYTHING.. infact just delete every mapped the the HOTAS.

> Hilight what you want changed and click ADD. Move stick/throttle/Pedals.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Don't just highlight the box you want to assign. Double click it. That will bring up a new window and when you move your throttle (or press whatever button) it will show up in the window.

Note: Axis assignments have their own list.

If you go here you can download the GUI manual for A-10 (P-51 doesn't have one yet) and it has the information on how to assign controls and such. It works the same in P-51.

I think what he's getting at and a lot of people miss the first time they try to setup controls for the DCS games is "Axis commands" the axis do not show up under "All" controls at all unless you select the dropdown for axis commands. It is easy to miss...

What you describe here is exactly how I did it, but with the new window up and when I move the stick or press the buttons it don't show up.

I'm gonna try again later today. Thank you all for the help so far

Just in case, I am attaching the section of the A-10 GUI manual that pertains to controls (9 pages is less to dl and look through).

So I got home from work and started up the pc and the game, and suddenly it all works out. I now can bind keys and axes to the functions. I don't know what I did wrong yesterday. I now realise that the sim spams me with thousands of different functions to map and remember. What are the essential ones and what can I do without?

Thank you all for the help

my Work in Progress!

I don't have Track IR yet hence the mapped Camera

Throttle is a bit erratic but you can fine tune the speed rather easy with the RPM lever so not a big issue!

the FFB is really necessary because there is no spring in the very center of the stick!

I'm having exactly the same problems with my G940. Unfortunately it hasn't mysteriously fixed for me. Anyone else got this problem? Thanks

Not sure I understand the use of 'spams me' here, and thousands?? I take it you have not tried the A-10.;)

The essential ones are the guns, bombs, rockets, engine rpm, and lights if you want to fly at night. That is assuming you want to air start.

Otherwise, all three trim axis will be needed if you plan on taking off.:D

I have the same problem with DCS World

I think I need help with this. First of all I have it set up alright in FC2 and Black Shark. I have the A10 but dont play it. Not enough time.

Anyway, when i go into options to check the Axis the throttle joy and pedals are set to Joy Z

If I try to change when working throttle I get joy x or joy y ONLY. Very strange. What am I doing wrong? Im a little rusty and have forgotten somethings. Is there not a profile for the Logitech software to grab or something. I noticed that it deems the software isnt populating a basic arrangement of assignments.

Still not sure why I cant change throttle in the game control area ?
