fjacobsen Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 RegGetValueA is a Win32 function used to retrieve a value from the registry It appears this function may not be supported in 32-bit Windows XP. It requires Windows XP x64, Vista or newer. Source Edit: verified that this function is missing in ADVAPI32.dll on Windows XP x86 with SP3 Well since DCS-World is told to work on Win XP 32bit, this then needs to be fixed for the next update I assume. ALDEGA Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Yep, that's why it's good to report errors now, while it's in beta.

MemphisBelle Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 stupid question...why are people holding on 32Bit systems? Are they mandatory in other aplications yet? dont consider this as a threat, it´s simply a question. BlackSharkDen | BSD Discord | DCS Tutorial Collection
fjacobsen Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 stupid question...why are people holding on 32Bit systems? Are they mandatory in other aplications yet? dont consider this as a threat, it´s simply a question. Well I agree that Win XP and 32bit OS in general aren´t up to todays standards. My problem is that I have ALOT of stuff installed, mostly for FSX. So I simply cannot find time to migrate to win 7 64bit and rather want to wait until I need a new system. Though Win7 is reported to be much better, I selvdom have any problems with my good old win XP - even with high end FSX aircraft like the PMDG 737 NGX. I also have ROF installed with zero problems and the same, as mentioned, DCS Black Shark 2 and A-10C. So apart from my problems with this beta - and yes it´s a beta so I don´t expect it to be perfect - I never had any roubles with Win XP.. Don´t misunderstand me. I´m not angry or disappointed at this stage. Using beta stuff will aways be a hit or miss. Betas are exactly there to pinpoint issues and bugs. By reporting problems, I´m sure that this product will be as fabolous as the other DCS sims. I keep my thumbs pressed for better luck with the next beta. MemphisBelle Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Off topic hmmm...I dont see wherefor you need WinXP32 for certain FSX Stuff? I´ve got it installed as well, I also have PMDG 737 installed (the one for FS9 which I run on win764 as well) . I purchased that one when I still had WinXP32Bit and it runs fine with Win7 64 Bit. Are you really sure that you need a 32Bit OS for any FSX Stuff? I mean exept that Win7 looks cooler, so it is a way better OS which covers all needs for those who still holds on WinXP... I do not need win xp 32bit for FSX. But shifting to win 7 64bit would require me to do a total reinstall of all my FSX stuff, something I rather want to postpone until absolutly necessary. When I shift to win 7, I rather want a totally fresh install of it before installing all my other stuff. FinnJ | i7-10700K 3.8-5.1Ghz | 64GB RAM | RTX 4070 12GB | 1x1TB M.2. NVMe SSD | 1x2TB M.2. stun Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Hmmm, trainig works fine here. Have you guys tried a new download and clearing out the saved games folder? Install using Administrator priviliges! Remember to disable antivirus during installation. (HJ) Tried all of the above. On my Win7 64 bit system I still just get the loading screen when I click on Training. To clarify, I haven't installed P-51D, so my issue is trying to access the training for the frog. What does the training menu look like, is it like previous games where you just get a link to a video? Nate, Is the training loading screen bug an issue that ED is able to reproduce, or is it just isolated to a few user's machines? I guess what I'm asking is whether it is an acknowledged bug in the Beta that is likely to be addressed?

Sparker Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 My concern is that I might be the only one with this problem, thus keeping me out from the future BS2 and A-10C migration into DCS-World with all the bug fixes that will be done for that. FinnJ Nope, you aren't the only one with this problem. I've got the same error when trying to launch DCS World Multiplayer and the game closes when loading any mission when the progress bar reaches about 100%. I've got Windows XP SP3. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Nate--IRL-- Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 It is glitch in the current beta I believe - 32bit should be fixed for the next one. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
sotosev Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 I had the same problem trying to run training missions! Then deleted the "DCS" folder in save games folder except "Config" one that I had already configured my commands and throttle not to loose anything.
