I think, as a tester, that it is just as important to tell the designer what they did well, not just what they may have done wrong. So in light of that:

Whoever designed the takeoff and landing tutorials deserve a good pat on the back. Well done. I was pretty impressed with the series of takeoff tutorials as I was having a particular hard time of it considering the amount of grass I tore up on either side of the runway, but now I can get off the ground more or less down the centerline of the runway.

I have never had such problems taking off so I was really putting off the landing because they always give me trouble.

Well, finally I bit the bullet and loaded it up last night. I could not imagine how DCS might set it up such that all this information would not be flying at me so fast that I would not be able to keep up, but the tutorial was so well organized and the special interface really helped me figure out how to orient the aircraft and maintain speed, manifold pressure and RPM. Well done guys!

Yes the tutorials are great!

I'd like to see some more tutorials in the final release, too.

Engine management is not a big issue now. I try to avoid >15 min. military power but I can go on for hours @ 61 manifold pressure. But surely when this is implemented an engine management tutorial would be great!

And navigation with stopwatch, compass, kneeboard!

Yeah, navigation would be a good one with a point to point mission.

There is a campaign mission dealing with navigation. It looks like the 'video' tutorials are just something to start with and then you crack on with the P-51 challenge campaign to get better and better at flying the 51 (take-off and landing in cross wind, ground attacks, aerial combat, navigation etc. etc.)

But thumbs up for the tutorials, well done!

I posted a thread about take-off rudder trim settings. Trim tab should be to the left, rather to the right... However, the tutorials ARE outstanding.

Hmm, think you might be confused. Rudder trim should indeed be set right.

That's what I have been trying to tell him.
