Gun Jam Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Hello I just installed a gtx 680 to replace my old dx 10 8800 ultra. I thought I read that with dx11 gpus that "ultra" graphics options became available in the setup menu. I still dont see them is this not true or is some other issue causing them not to display? Thanks -Gun
Blaze Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Never seen or read that anywhere. Can you remember where you saw that? i7 7700K | 32GB RAM | GTX 1080Ti | Rift CV1 | TM Warthog | Win 10 "There will always be people with a false sense of entitlement. Corrigan Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I don't think the engine uses DX11 (or even DX10?). Win10 x64 | SSDs | i5 2500K @ 4.4 GHz | 16 GB RAM | GTX 970 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek pedals | TIR5
luckybob9 Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I have never heard of this. I dont think the current engine uses anything of DX11, it only uses DX9. So the game should not care if you have a DX11 card or not. However with EDGE and Nevada, it will utilize some DX11 functions Nevada map contributer EDM Modeling tools FAQ: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1418067&postcount=1 Seo libh a chairde is chanadh liom. Gun Jam Posted May 19, 2012 Author Posted May 19, 2012 I dont remember where I saw that..long time ago its also entirely possible that I miss interpreted what was written... Now that said is there a way to increase the draw distance using an ini file beyond what one can set using the sliders? Thanks -Gun
Blaze Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Try this out. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=80994 i7 7700K | 32GB RAM | GTX 1080Ti | Rift CV1 | TM Warthog | Win 10 "There will always be people with a false sense of entitlement. Mustang Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 If you wish to increase the draw distance you'll have to edit the high.lua file, look for line 56 and raise 'farDistance = 10000.0;' to a higher value.
Gun Jam Posted May 19, 2012 Author Posted May 19, 2012 Hey thanks I was able to squeez a bit more out of it but looks its not unlimited. I set it to farDistance = 55000.0; and that was a little better then to farDistance = 95000.0; that might have made a slight improvement. But it doesnt look like it will recognise any thing above that. for example farDistance = 995000.0; made no improvement. instead of building and trees popping up I would like them simply become visible as they come out of the "fog" I would like it to draw them when they are still so far away that you simply dont notice it much....Its closer now I guess thats as good as it gets?? Thanks -Gun
