Hi ED developers,

 

I'm not able to open "RedCrossMassacre" in the editor of 1.1.2.1.

It stuck in the loading screen.

Also if I want to start the mission in singleplayer it stuck in the loading screen.

 

Please can you help me to save my mission?

I don't want to loose it. :helpsmilie:

Is there a way to edit the lua files in the mission so I can open and save it in the editor?

Some of the buildings that were available in vehicle groups in 1.1.1.1 aren't available in 1.1.2.1. It appears only "bunker 1" and "bunker 2" are in the 1.1.2.1 beta version of the sim. So you can use 1.1.1.1 and change objects like roadblocks, barracks, or guard towers to bunker 1 or 2 and it should load fine in 1.1.2.1. I'm not sure if the issue applies to static objects, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

 

I'll double check to see if this was fixed.

Just out of curiosity, is there any interest for other buildings to be place-able in vehicle groups?

Just out of curiosity, is there any interest for other buildings to be place-able in vehicle groups?

 

All buildings which are able to shoot.

Bunker 1, Bunker 2, Watchtower... Roadblock maybe?

One of the most wanted "building" is the bridges in my mind, will make bombing missions a lot better to actually check that the bridge is out. If there could be made a flat object to be used as a layer on the bridge to identify damage that will solve the issue. But if anything is placed on the bridge all military vehicles must be able to drive over it in both directions. Hope this is understandable ;)

 

And for the P-51D it would be just awesome to have a grass field to drop on flat ground to mark an airfield, almost like a farp but much longer and wider.

Is there any information about how to pack or unpack missions. Is there another layer below the .miz or a tool that takes folders and files and makes an miz file. Thanks for the info.

A .miz file is just a .zip file by another name. All you need to do to unpack/repack them is change the file extension to .zip.

I suspect the news in this post is the cause.

 

Not one of my missions will open up in the Mission Editor. I'm using DCS World and the A-10C module, with missions designed in A-10C v1.1.1.1 and earlier.

I've deleted all the buildings from an old mission and checked to see if there is a config file to delete but still wont open in World. Is there anything else Im missing?

Try opening the mission in the editor. If it freezes alt-tab and go to X:\Users\windowsname\Saved Games\DCS\Logs and open the "me.txt" file. This log file will contain all error messages with the mission editor and UI in general. Paste the file or the errors which would be near the bottom of the file.

 

Or just paste the mission and I can take a look.

I am creating a ticket for the omission of the group/unit-buildings in DCS World. While these objects are included as Static Objects in DCS World, DCSW should also include these objects under the Unarmed category of Vehicles Groups, such as they were included in v1.1.1.1 of A-10C for Vehicle Groups.

 

I think it is wrong to break such a link between the older version to the new. It's been discussed before in these forums that compatibility should carry over where ever possible - this omission should be easy to correct since an Unarmed category of vehicles does exist in DCSW and that category already has two of the building-units, bunkers, in it. Really, what is the reason for the omission - it does not add anything, it just takes away and breaks decent missions that have given many customers many, many hours of immersion, fun and satisfaction.

 

There important considerations to having buildings that can be targeted for trigger actions. Not every battle is just about a tank or a truck; these buildings add the element of strategic stationary targets and represent story elements in a mission that a mobile unit cannot.

Making a new mission today and go to place a bunker for the USA. These are not available at all for USA - no fortifications at all! Above I said the buildings should go into the Unarmed category of Vehicles - but they need to be under Fortifications with this new scheme.

 

1. Add all the buildings into Fortifications.

2. Add Fortifications to the USA Vehicle Group.

3. ? Add Fortifications to all countries' Vehicle Group ? (anybody can build a building, after all.)
