redfish Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 (edited) Anyone else seen this? Just flying in a mission and then got hit a one second lag/micro freeze and a massive explosion of brown gets rendered on the surface below. Any thoughts on what just happened? xxJohnxx Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 You can do this with the triggers in the ME. You set a trigger, for instance ONCE -> TIME MORE (10 seconds) -> EXPLOSION IN ZONE (alternativly with EXPLODE UNIT) and the just fill in a 1 and many many zeros. With enough zeros you will have a little nuke. Okay, only vehicles very close to the center of the explosion but you can have huge brown areas. Yurgon Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 GPU overheating? Looked like some serious graphics problem.
HiJack Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 I've seen that on my GPU, HD5870. You fixe it quickly by selecting the default graphic settings with High Quality, or any other default if you like.

EtherealN Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 (edited) Pseudo-known bug. Saw that one happen first time really early with internal A-10C builds, but I've never managed to replicate it. I've seen it again once after that, but didn't manage to find a way to replicate then either. Should be a very rare occurance though. If you manage to replicate it reliably, please let us know how - it's one of those that even though it almost never happens still bugs me. :P EDIT: Good thing though is that if it does happen to you, you don't have to spend (like I did) the next couple hours meticulously testing your hardware and drivers... :D Edited June 3, 2012 by EtherealN [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
HiJack Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 There were 6 other pilots in the server and they could see it as well. Now that was an important information left out initially. Obviously not the GPU then :noexpression: I have not seen it again either. (HJ)
