Exorcet Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 I agree, picking off tanks in an endless field of detail-less green is very different from picking off tanks near the big tower next to the rocky hill. Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files
jmod Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 It seems they've already decided what to do! It is not using the same engine - it is a new DX11 engine built from scratch. You do not know what is being produced - you cannot draw any conclusions. Like Pyroflash said, all in good time. As ED replaces parts of the engine, they may well end up being sent off to run in their own threads, etc. I don't mind spending 199.99$ for a smooth, sophisticated, contemporary (64 bit, multi CPU-GPU, DirectX 11) simulation platform running different kinds of modules from submarines to satellites! Let's fly together for the sake of peace :)
Doug97 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Until multicore CPUs are properly utilized, no progress can be made.
RpSPT Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I don't mind spending 199.99$ for a smooth, sophisticated, contemporary (64 bit, multi CPU-GPU, DirectX 11) simulation platform running different kinds of modules from submarines to satellites! Count me in. All versions of Arma are way too casual as what comes to vehicle controls for my tastes. If DCS "Next Gen" had infantry and all vehicles included it would be awesome. While waiting for that I will continue flying A-10, Ka-50...
jmod Posted January 17, 2013 Author Posted January 17, 2013 With this new DCS Overview, ED (unofficially) announced the next DCS fighters: F/A-18C Su-27SM F-15C But there is something missing! :( I don't know why ED is so silent about features of EDGE! All we know is that it will support DirectX 11. Could they reveal more features to us (please)? Will multitasking be supported? Let's fly together for the sake of peace :)
sobek Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Seriously, your first reaction to this announcement is nagging? I gotta say, you blow my mind!:doh: Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
jmod Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 I don't know why you get it nagging, it's just a need for more information (especially about EDGE)! :) Is there anything about EDGE in the radio interview? :D If they are working on EDGE from scratch, it's better to include PhysX as well, a new technology for physics engines! Let's fly together for the sake of peace :)
NRG-Vampire Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 http://www.dinamika-avia.com/product/classifier/helicopter/detail.php?id=647 Yeah, I wonder who made their terrain engine. DCS: Ka-52 ?

Suchacz Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 DCS: Ka-52 ? AFAIK CSTS Dinamika is using its own simulation environment, it definitely doesn't look like TFCSE. Looks more like FSX. You can look at this Mi-17 sim made by them http://www.youtube.com/user/HTPsimulator?feature=watch Per aspera ad astra!
