VapoR Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 I've looked in both the 1.1 pdf manual as well as the in-game encyclopedia but I can't find the FAB-250p, but it's available in the payload editor. What is the difference between this and the regular FAB-250? At first I thought it was parachute-retarded, but that is the PB-250. Anyone know?

Maverick-90 Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 practice bomb? A Practice bomb in a cmobat flight sim? doesn'T make much sense i think it's a heat-rejecting ?right word? Version, cuz afaik it's only available on MiG-25RBT
504MrWolf Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 I only have this info on it : http://stud3.tuwien.ac.at/~e9826217/SFP1/weaponInfo/WeaponData584.html FAB-250 Pakistan 250-kg Bomb The FAB-250 Pakistan 250-kg Bomb, weighting 551.16 lb contains 220.46 lb of High Explosives, fused to detonate at a distance of 0.00 feet. Its length is 4.83 feet at a diameter of 1.06 feet. Development started 0 in Pakistan, it is in service with United States Air Force. bSr.LCsta Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 ***Edit*** I dont' know anthing.... ...and what is the difference between KMGU-2b and KMGU-2f? In the game, use "F" type for transport and soft targets, and "B" for armor targets. I have not tried them on the runway, but seeing as the game code has it so even the smallest damage to runways will result in AI not taking off, I am sure either would work. is this ok?
504MrWolf Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 nah it doesnt have a chute m8 www.VVS504.co.uk www.lockonskins.co.uk
tomcat1974 Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 actually i didn't noticed in some page until now, but FAB-250P M62 is the low drag type of bomb - a streamed body M54 is the one with a more blocky body
ED Team Olgerd Posted October 20, 2005 ED Team Posted October 20, 2005 ...and what is the difference between KMGU-2b and KMGU-2f? These two are obsolete designations. In Flaming Cliffs they got another names - KMGU-2/AO-2,5RT (blast fragmentation warhead) and KMGU-2/PTAB-2,5KO (cumulative warhead). [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] К чему стадам дары свободы? TipoMan Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 I think this is a special derivative of the standart FAB-250 used only in MiG-25 for high altitude high speed bombing. It has much better thermal isolation to allow for the higher friction with the air at speed of about Mach 3. AFAIK the range of these bombs when dropped from 25k at about Mach2.8 is about 50-60km !
504 Wolverine Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 I think this is a special derivative of the standart FAB-250 used only in MiG-25 for high altitude high speed bombing. Actually all the Russian aircraft apart from the Su-24 and heavy bombers (Tu-22/95/160) use the FAB-250p version. I don't think that the Su-25/T/TM would do much high speed high Altitude bombing. :p [/url]
Weta43 Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 that's true, but given how the SU25T handles if I had a choice between a low drag weapon & a high drag one, I know which one I would take... Cheers.
Force_Feedback Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 But ingame there are no visual differences between the two types, they both look the same, as do the explosions, so I guess that heat-resistant theory is more plausible than the high-low drag one, but then again, we don't know if the devs got the external model right.
