kyletiernan Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I would love to see ambient occlusion properly implemented into DCS world for extra realistic graphical fidelity. I have managed to force it into the game but this process is far from perfect but it should give you an idea of how much better it can make the game look. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Demongornot Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 And i wonder see the graphical level of CryEngine 3 Light, color, and reflection are perfect In case of a lot of people will told me that the view range can't be handle by CryEngine 3, i will just show them this real time city simulation with CE3 : But it just what i want anyways, no one else want that here apparently... HiJack Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Looks really great but CryEngine is DirectX 11 and this sim is on DX9 as far as I know. For now I'm very happy with the graphics when travling at 2000 feet or higher. It will be exiting to se how this plays out with DCS CA. (HJ)

I hope your post is taken seriously, because that looked very good, perhaps even a little too much in the one with the f-15's. Demongornot: Your probably just misunderstanding. I belive that alot of people here would want that kind of possibilities in a flight sim, but are perhaps more understanding of the fact that it is unrealistic at this point in time. The renders you are seeing are are indeed impressive, but not relevant for flight sims (yet; perhaps your grandchildren will experience something like this in a flightsim without compromise, but not any sooner...) and bit OT... 1 Help Beczl with his DCS MiG-21Bis project by Pre-Ordering DCS MiG-21Bis module NOW! Thanks, I agree it is a bit too dark unfortunately i cant change that and there are a few other problems with it being forced which is why I hope they take interest in it. Performance wise it is very reasonable, I can fly with everything on high and get 40-60 fps. Performance was not an issue for me at all. I have a thread in the Mods section which shows how to do this. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Exorcet Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Standard lighting looks better on the F-15, but the truck is improved. Witchking Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 I think it looks freaking amazing even on the F-15E. Very cinematic looking. Damn! if only it worked on ATI cards. :( WHISPR | Intel I7 5930K | Nvidia GTX980 4GB GDDR5 | 16GB DDR4 | Intel 730 series 512GB SSD | Thrustmaster WARTHOG | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR4 pro | |A-10C|BS2 |CA|P-51 MUSTANG|UH-1H HUEY|MI-8 MTV2 |FC3|F5E|M2000C|AJS-37|FW190|BF 109K|Mig21|A-10:SSC,EWC|L-39|NEVADA|
KaspeR32 Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Yeah Ambient Occlusion really would add another layer of awesomeness to this game. Shadows for me really help immerse me in a game. I mean the cockpit shadows alone helped make this game so much better.
