stelios2000 Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Hi, Does anyone manage to connect these two ? And if he did it please tell me how cause i cant :music_whistling: Thanks in advance stelios
stelios2000 Posted July 27, 2012 Author Posted July 27, 2012 (edited) What is SIOC? SIOC is a programming language/system that is used to program a flight simulator based on Opencockpits IOCards. Basically this means connecting a switch in your home build cockpit to the aircraft add-on in MS Flight simulator and, the other way around, using information in that add-on to control led's and digits in your cockpit. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=88154 Edited July 27, 2012 by stelios2000
Deadman Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 Gus has done some work with Open cockpits in his pit. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
stelios2000 Posted July 28, 2012 Author Posted July 28, 2012 Gus has done some work with Open cockpits in his pit. Can you please write the link ?? thanks
Duckling Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 (edited) Hi. I'm still running v1.1.1.1 and haven't yet moved to DCS World. Anyone else made the leap with SIOC in mind that could share the result ? (Sorry if i missed any earlier post/s) Edited July 28, 2012 by Duckling - - - -
stelios2000 Posted July 28, 2012 Author Posted July 28, 2012 Hi. I'm still running v1.1.1.1 and haven't yet moved to DCS World. Anyone else made the leap with SIOC in mind that could share the result ? (Sorry if i missed any earlier post/s) Hi Duckling, Pancake did a terrific job making a tutorial (download the pdf).... please take a look at this link http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=88154
Duckling Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Thanks Stelios. Yepp, I've seen that. Pancake made a very good tutorial. I was more looking for some insight of what to expect when migrating an existing SIOC config used with DCS v1.1.x to DCS World. I'll have to make 'some' reading and recap if there are some dead ends prior doing the upgrade ;-) Cheers Gus - - - -
JG14_Smil Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 It should not be that different once you point to the proper directories(?). I am using Epic hardware with Helios and going from BS2 to DCSW is going quite well. I know it is different than your setup though. good luck,
LeLv30_Superbus Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Duckling, I just switched to DCS World and my cockpit (running SIOC) stopped working, indicator lamps and switches alike. You might want to wait until I figure out what changes are needed. I expect them to be very small. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Click to view pictures of my deskpit
Duckling Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Thanks Superbus. Allways cautious when upgrading and will be some time before I try to make the jump :-) Holding my thumbs and hope for some insight on the upgrade path Cheers Gus - - - -
LeLv30_Superbus Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Clueless I'm sorry to report I have made little or no progress. I copied the old export.lua to the new directory C:\...\DCS World\Config\Export and examined what changes there were in the example file and implemented them. DCS connects to SIOC server when I start the sim, but it doesn't seem to send or receive anything. DCS freezes completely after drawing the first frame. I'm afraid I'm not smart enough to crack this one. It has to be something really stupid and simple, though, because I can't think of any reason they would have changed anything fundamental now. There was no need. :helpsmilie: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Click to view pictures of my deskpit
Pancake Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 HAve you reinstalled the export support script from gadroc when reconfigured helios with DCSW? :joystick:Cockpit Project ---> http://imageshack.us/g/805/43072310150728796824899.jpg/
LeLv30_Superbus Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Yes I created a Config\Export\SIOCconfig and copied exportsupport.lua there if that's what you mean, but thanks anyway. I don't use Helios and neither does Duckling I'm afraid. It doesn't do SIOC (Opencockpits) afaik. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Click to view pictures of my deskpit
Duckling Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Thanks SuberBus. Sounds like the jump to DCS World will be a challange. I'm not ready to make the upgrade yet so still hoping for the best. Only OC & SIOC/SoftTH in my Pit right now but it may change :-) - - - -
icemaker Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I have no problem with SIOC and DCS World all my cockpit is running fine. I post you my export folder there you can find all my configuration for Helios And SIOC I added a folder where i put the ssi file configuration for IoCards Software.DCS Export.rar
Duckling Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Thanks Icemaker. Both to know it works :-) and for sharing your config. Great reference  Cheers Gus - - - -
