sotosev Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Every time I play a mission, after I unpause the game, my view starts to zoom out. My problem is that I don't need it! I have to say that I use trackIR. So after that I press Enter on my keyboard to return to the default zoom level. Is there any reason why that happens. Finally can I change something in options or a mod maybe to avoid that?:) System specs below Case - Antec Three Hundred PSU - Corsair AX750watt Board - MSI Z170A GAMING PRO CPU - Intel i5 6600K 3900MHz Cooler - CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus Memory - Kingston HYPERX 16G DDR4 2400Mhz CL15 Graphics - MSI GEFORCE GTX 980 GAMING 4G SSD - Samsung 950 PRO 256GB M.2 NVMe Monitor - Philips 277E 27" 1920x1080 60Hz OS - Windows 10 Home 64bit Flight Controllers - Thrustmaster HOTAS WARTHOG, Saitek COMBAT RUDDER PEDALS, TrackIR 4, Track Clip Pro [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Nate--IRL-- Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 It is a "feature" for wide-screens. Useless and annoying. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading

sotosev Posted August 11, 2012 Author Posted August 11, 2012 Is it the G-force effect? No, it is not, it happens only in the beginning of all missions, not while flying. If it's the wide screen effect is it possible to avoid it? cichlidfan Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Anyway, not a big deal!:smilewink: Agreed, but from a purely personal perspective, I would really like to hear the explanation for the design choice. Nate--IRL-- Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Agreed, but from a purely personal perspective, I would really like to hear the explanation for the design choice. It is to accommodate unusual aspect ratios. If you set DCS to a portrait resolution it actually zooms in. Echo38 Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 What problem is it supposed to fix/prevent? What would happen on one of these unusual aspect ratio systems, if the zooming didn't occur?
Devrim Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 It's big (not much) deal for me. It's really anoying. If possible, they (ED) should remove this "feature". Echo38 Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 No good reason to ever remove a feature, but it's always nice to have an option to turn a feature off. However, I'd like to know what problem this feature prevents, as I cannot think of what it might be. (Which doesn't mean that there isn't one--be careful what you wish for.)
Devrim Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 (edited) Ok, sorry (It's better not to be a selfish). You may right. WildBillKelsoe Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 In peterp's multimonitor setup HUD files, he actually did something that causes view to be zoomed out before unpause, then zooms in to correct fov.
