WildBillKelsoe Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 So, I just cashed, and went on a shopping spree.. Sorry for being a ruthless prick, but when it comes to combat sims, well.. You get it.. hopefully.. Thing is, F4.0AF is coming late. All in all, I'm happy!! DCS P-51D + DCS BS2.0 + DCS A-10C +F4.0AF+ IL-2CoD+ ROFTFGAWICE.... Please tell me the fat F4AF comes with a printed manual... They don't mention it on site... And remember.. Respect.. is everything... AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
Rusty_M Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 When I got F4AF, it came with a quick start manual which is actually not too bad. However, the main manual is a PDF. The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine! http://www.twitch.tv/rusty_the_robot https://www.youtube.com/user/RustyRobotGaming
Kuky Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Keep in mind that if you get F4AF and not original F4 you can't run BMS as it needs the original F4... just putting it out there in case you didn't know PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
Cali Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Like Kuky said, if you are planning on running BMS you need the original F4 disk/exe file. I tried F4AF and I didn't like the way it looked. i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED
WildBillKelsoe Posted August 15, 2012 Author Posted August 15, 2012 Well, somebd should've mentioned this 'requirement'... Anyways, I still got RoF and Il-2.. Should make things interesting. Razor5-1 Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Falcon 4 AF is still great fun, I would say that it's the best way to learn the F-16, personally I prefer the campaigns in AF than BMS. The dogfighting is epic in AF too such a challenge! I have no problem shooting down fighters in BMS.
cichlidfan Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 (edited) Well, somebd should've mentioned this 'requirement'... Anyways, I still got RoF and Il-2.. Should make things interesting. Actually, the BMS site covers the fact that Falcon AF does not work. That is why a new copy of Falcon 4 is over $100 on Amazon. Keep in mind that ROF is not going to run on anything close to high settings on your laptop. You are in for a pretty big DL to, since that CD is v1.013 and the product is going to update to v1.027. I would also DL the updated manual from ROFs website. The included manual is way out of date. CloD I would not speculate on. Razor5-1 Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 (edited) To add to the helpful things cichlidfan has said already, COD will also be hard on your system, not running on high either. But I think it's a great sim with plenty of potential! No fancy constant speed props like the P-51 either ;) Edited August 15, 2012 by Razor5-1
aaron886 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I must say, I hated my CH stick but I've put 5 years and probably considerably more than a thousand hours on my CH throttle with nary a complaint. Great piece of hardware with a durable design. Say what you want about CH, their buttons are just incomparable.
