When playing a two ship formation in BS2 World i noticed that the only option in the communication menu for issuing commands to my single Wingman was Flight. No Wingman option exists for him anymore...... so i can no longer give him a Recon command for instance.

I started up the "Death Valley" mission which is a three ship mission and the only options that appear in the comm menu for controlling them are Flight and Wingman 2..... no option for my third Wingman appears.

I also started up the "Gauntlet" mission which is a "four ship" mission and i only had options for the whole Flight and Wingmen 2 & 3... once again i can't issue commands to my fourth Wingman individually.

So it appears that were missing the radio commands for the last wingman in our flight in the comm's menu.

Please would somebody else confirm this the next time you fly BS2 World...... haven't checked this in A-10C yet...

Regards..

P.s. I have the easy comm's option checked in the main GUI options menu.

I can confirm this. Last night GOW mission 2 ship KA-50 flight, no com for wingman only "flight".

Add to that, the "flight" would not attacking anything. Not attack my target, not attack ground targets, not attack datalink targets. Kept getting a negative at every attack order. Would go into formations and everything else, just would not attack anything.

Thanks for your replies and confirming that there is a little problem with the BS2 communication menu.

Hopefully they will see this thread and provide a fix...

I don't see it - could you provide a track?

Now I get it, Nate, this bug only happens when the option easy communication is enabled. This explains why only some people are experiencing this bug!

All heli's on same radio channel and properly configured in ME? a copy of the mission would help too unless it's a default mission?

I came here to post about this as well, good to see I am not the only one. Not being able to use the wingman to recon is a huge issue. I will try to turn easy communications off. What does that do anyway?

One hint, Toast: open the manual (<DCS World folder>\Mods\aircrafts\Ka-50\Doc\DCS BS2 Flight Manual EN.pdf) and print the pages 520 and 521. It's a list of the airdromes radio frequencies, very useful! Or you can press F10 and click on the airdrome to see the frequency.

Ok now I have an even worse problem, my communication menu will not come up at all, the default key \ will not do anything now.

Edit, ok so I think I see what Joy was saying, I need to select the local freq.

Too bad that page was not included in my printed manual from like 2009.

I will give that a try I tired to look up what other switches needed to be selected but I was not able to find that in the manual. I looked in the most up to date version as well.

Ok off to try it!
