So it seems now that we have FC3 with radar equiped aircraft we would be able to scan the air for long ranges. But it seems like the radar doesn't seem to pick up anything beyond 40 miles out. Sort of like how the TGP can only scan to about 40 miles out and below. So is this a limit in the DCS World, or is there some setting we can modify to extend the range?

Sorry misread that....your right RWS is a radar mode. I'll do some more testing tonight. But I'm looking to try to find a target at about 100 miles out of a mission I"m working on. Shouldn't that be possible with the F-15 radar?

Radar ranges seem to be pretty much the same as FC2, easily picking up fighter size contacts at 60nm.

100nm, maybe larger aircraft yes, but not fighters. Also remember these aircraft must be coming towards you, against aircraft moving away from you the radar acquisition range is greatly reduced.

About 95 nm for a large aircraft (cargo type) head on. Less, if it's only heading in your general direction. With military aircraft, you'll most likely "see" their jammer before you can actually see them on the VSD after burn through.
